Appears we have some more very fine players along the way - thank christ Keane has gone getting rid of Bryan Klug!? Sums up what an absolute mug he was.

Matt Clarke, Kenyu, Donnolly supposed to be good, Dozzell, young lad who cannot yet play for us because of stupid contract crap - we're on the up! Some may play next season.

It's got to be the future (and our past)developing our own players rather than bringing in mercenary has beens.

Totally agree and things are looking bright on the yoof front ...but this route does need fans to be patient and realistic Which can be a problem......some people do seem to want 'The Moon on a Stick' and they want it now..<laugh>

I certainly think that those mentioned will definitely get game time next season.....along with one or two others.

I'd rather us bring through youngsters than buy players. It can give the whole team a lift and hopefully if they're coached correctly they might be a bit better than our current lot on the ball.

Yep, coaching kids with the right football philosophy pays dividends when they progress through to the first team.

15 Bloody god awful years and counting but don't worry cos in 3 or 4 years time when the kids have come through we might just have a team good enough for promotion!

Ipswich Town is the most boring team to support in the whole of the leagues because every season you know what to expect! Basically nothing but mediocrity Yawn.

Hardly a fair comment off the back of this season, which could still provide the dream ticket :emoticon-0104-surpr

Problem is, with Mick in charge, all skill/flair and creativity in these players will be drained from them and they no longer be known as the yoof but the hoof!!

Look at it this way JWM, it's a long time to not have been relegated and certainly not 15 years since we were last fighting for promotion. Remember, we are one of only eight teams to have not been out of the top two divisions in nearly sixty years. A lot of clubs would love to have had that kind of consistency.

JWM, we don't have an entitlement to promotion. The truth is, I don't think we been a well-run club since the 2001/02 season.

Sheepshanks and Burley mismanaged and wasted millions on useless signings, and, while I'm grateful they got us promoted in the first place, they're also partly responsible for Joe Royle's inability to get us promoted, because of the poor financial state they left us in. Royle did well for us, I think we can all agree on that. He worked well on a limited budget and managed two play-off semi-final appearances in three years. We were probably hasty in firing him. Magilton came in and, while he improved on Royle's final season, we were play-off also-rans at best. Again, maybe we should have showed Magilton some faith? It's something I strongly supported at the time mostly because we were challenging at the right end of the table and playing attractive football.

Evans' money was welcome. We needed to spend cash to get promoted. Unfortunately for us, Evans proved utterly inept at appointing managers. Roy Keane, a manager I disagreed with coming in, because of his character. He had a promotion under his belt, fair enough, and he got us a semi-final appearance in the League Cup, which was nice. But we spent most of his Town career struggling against relegation despite spending near £11m. What a waste. If there was a 'time to get promoted' then it would have been, realistically, around then. Jewell came in, an appointment I think most of us were cautious about, and didn't fare much better although I appreciate he tried to get us playing attractive football.

I was skeptical about McCarthy coming in, but I've been pleasantly surprised with what he's done for us. Cut costs, removed the expensive deadwood, and got a degree of consistency back. We're punching above our weight and competing for a play-off place. Yes, we don't play attractive football and, yes, our form this year has been, on the whole, dreadful. But we're back competing at the right end of the table. If we don't get a play-off place at the end of the year, then I hope Evans will take a bit of gamble and provide Mick with some funds. Nothing too drastic, but enough so that he can bring in some of the players he wants. He's been a far better manager for us than the last two!

First half we played very well Spanish but agree we have been served up a lot of dross of late.

I thought Bishop in particular was outstanding first 55/60. What a player he is.

Hmm, we shall have to beg to differ on that, furst half for me was not bad and second half was absolute dross, sorry but i just cant see how Tabb and Skuse bring anything when in the same team, its just negative crap and they didnt even protect the back 4!!

First half was the best we've played in ages. We got the ball down well,, passed it around, Bishop was beating people. Bar the two IDIOTIC goals we gave away I thought we played some of the best stuff I've seen under Mick.

Second half agree we were absolutely horrific. AWFUL. I had a massive argument with a fan after the game in the pub who thought we'd played well second half. Last half an hour!

Second half they certainly didn't protect the back four anything near enough. I quite like Skuse but to be bluntly honest we need better and he needs to improve.

I never said that we did! <ok> I'm just sick to death reading all these comments about how we must be patient and give it time...blah! Blah! Blah! We are Ipswich Fooking Town for Heaven's Sake not bloody Chesterfield or Rotherham or some other backward god awful place without history! Stop making apologies for why we aren't achieving the things that a club of our size and stature should be achieving! Our once great football club has slowly been eroded away into obscurity due to ill thought out and short term decisions but to say to people that we must be patient after 14-15 years of dross is just plain insulting! Why shouldn't Ipswich Fans expect it now?

My 17 year old Son has only known dross being a fan of Ipswich and even he is getting really fed up with it and who can blame him? He's just passed his driving test and was thinking about his first Season Ticket next year but now he's saying that he cant be bothered! Who can blame him? Sorry for the rant but I'm just really, really fed up! <ok>
