Academy Players used this season

Although, in our defence, when survival is of the utmost importance, you cannot allow yourself to concentrate on the academy fully.
Something we need to work on in the long term though.

Nope, Southampton really did use half of an academy player...

Only glanced at ours to be fair and was wondering why it was 0.0 beyond beyond really really precise.

a quality academy will produce young english talent which we can sell for useful revenue or retain for the first team

one of my City gripes has been this for years

 

We have an academy?

Doubt many other premier league teams have their's playing behind an old working man's club & boiler factory.

 

City haven't had a lot of properly decent youth players (Cairney the only one I can think of in my entire lifetime), so it is no surprise.

When is the last time a local lad came through and made ANY impact? Do we have to go as far back as Adam Bolder?

 

And Deano before him.


There's hardly anyone.

 

But we were at a very low level back then, plenty of players have come through since then to find the club is at a much higher level before.

We would have a good team of local larkers if we were still in Lg 2 or Lg 1.

Atkinson, Bradley, Townsend, Cullen etc

 

Tuckin was on about local lads.

 

So was I.

Cullen is a Geordie but came up through our system.

 

Local lads means people from the area?

What academy players have you used?


We've had Moore, King, Schlupp and Hopper.

 

Atkinson is Brandesburton, Bradley is Hull, Townend is Hull/ER.
