Just seeing Anthony Grant's name mentioned on another post made me remember him when he attended my secondary school - Forest Hill Boys. We also produced a certain player by the name of Richard Rufus. Myles Weston also attended towards the latter years of school.

Basically, just wondering if any of you guys went to the same school as any CAFC players?

I didn't go to school with any but played sunday football with Anthony Barness for a good few years. Interestingly he was naturally right footed and played right back but his old man continually individually coached him and would only let him kick with his left foot. He wasn't the most naturally gifted player but, and credit to him, worked his socks off and had a very good career. I taught Kyel Reid and Jordan Cousins. Both were really nice kids.

I played for a junior football team called London Boys and in the heart of our midfield was a certain Scotty Parker. He was a tremendous player from a very young age. He had two great feet, one hell of an engine and could do things with the ball that no kid of his age should be able to do.

When he was a youngster he was a truly creative midfielder in every sense. However, he couldn’t tackle or head and he lacked strength. Imo we must have over coached him in the aspects of his game that weren’t his strengths… A bit of a shame really. Although, having had the career he has I’m sure he’s not complaining.

When I played for the year above at the same club, our front man was Marlon King. He was a decent player but not amazing by any stretch. Put simply, I’m surprised he’s made football his career…!!

Unfortunately when I was at school I had no intrest in football so I have no idea whether there were any there...although I am told Jimmy bullard attended some years before me.
