Football chants have always been vile and offensive.
Whilst I agree this is disgusting, so are half the chants that fans use about opposition players and managers.

I personally don't really see how people can be so against racist, homophobic and sexist chants, whilst being completely ok with other chants which have been going round for years i.e the Wenger is a ****phile one.

I think those chants are disgusting as well and part of the reason football grounds are a horrible environment to be in right now.

But the only thing I was saying was that if this was in regards to racist chanting, people and papers would be all over it. But when it's a member of the medical staff of a team getting "get your tits out for the lads" being yelled at her just for being on the football pitch ... hardly any attention drawn to it. Screwed up.

Can you imagine their reaction if it was their mum, sister, wife, girlfriend, daughter or mate who was having that said to them in the street?

Some of that footage is really nasty to watch/listen too. Not sure if it's the same one but amidst all the "get your tits out" nonsense there is a guy yelling absolute bile. Not suggesting the tits out chant is by any means ok but I'm stunned nothing was said about him at the time.

I do take the point about abusive chants in general. I remember as a kid thinking most of them were hilarious and admit to enthusiastically taking part. I'd like to chalk some of that up to pack mentality, naivety and, mainly, being a little bellend. I try and stick to the songs these days which are just cheering on your own team and players but I have to say it wouldn't have occurred to me to complain about some of the abusive ones. I'm not sure why as I'd have done so for racist chants. Obviously we have to police ourselves but the clubs will need to get involved too if they want this to stop.
