i don't understand the fact that Gibson gets abused more than obertan Gibsons clearly the better player
I don't understand why Gibson gets abused full stop. Yes, he isn't up to top 4 standard, but he has been our 6th choice CM this season. How many players do people expect would be willing to be 6th choice at United? He does a decent job in less games against weaker teams, covered when Anderson was injured, and allowed Giggs and Scholes to rest for the bigger games.
As squad players go there are worse players than Gibson. The abuse he gets is completely unfair as he has shown loyalty to United despite not being 1st choice. Of course I could be biased for him because he is from Northern Ireland and so am I.
Agreed, some of his recent passes have been very unGibson-y: they've actually set players up. Seems to be adding goals to his game but tbh I can't see him ever being more than a squad play.
I don't rate the guy because he cannot run, pass, tackle and many of his shots are way way off target. NI fans don't like him because of his betrayal. Saying that the abuse is over the top and should stop.
Obertan gets less abuse because he looks like The Predator and more scary the Gibbo. "Pick me Boss or I'll eat your family"
The question is, should Gibson be given games at the expense of Anderson? No, he should not, in my opinion, and that is what got my goat up with Gibson this last season.
