Although Alonso will still be lurking well down the field again for his last F1 race, his car could make him the star attraction! https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/140235/mclaren-creates-special-alonso-farewell-livery
Nice touch , though I’m sure there are some who question if he deserves it . Not 100%. Sure myself . Anyway , I had forgotten about Rosbergs colour scheme
McLaren should be thankful that Alonso stuck with them this long. They are lucky for the points haul they got the last few years otherwise they would be in serious trouble. They have to up their game next year.
Probably. McLaren have been like this for a while and with their boss who is supposed to be a pro in this field. Not as good as the Coulthard final race livery
It’s more down to people like Simon Points and the partner management team than the direct boss in fairness (though obviously he/she carry weight). They’ve certainly had a mare with that recently.
Haas in "calling kettle black" shocker: Haas have a hearing against Racing Point Force India, arguing that they haven't built their own car and should be thrown out of the championship. The VJM11 was built by Sahara Force India.
well, I imagine there's a few million in prize money invloved, and, technically and legally, they're probably right; it is a bit low though.
Especially given their moaning at being called out by Renault. They're all trying to get each other in anyway they can. And people think it's a good idea to let the teams make the rules!
seems like a bit of strategical rule book waving to me, hw much prize money will they get if RPFI lose all their results, can't be much.
Interesting, well predictable, interview from Max on BBC. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/46309361 A couple of quotes "It could have been much worse," said the Red Bull driver on Thursday. Verstappen added: "What do you expect me to do? Shake his hand and say 'thank you very much for making me second instead of first'? I think it is quite a normal response. "I don't expect to crash with a backmarker. If you get hit like that, I honestly don't understand what I should do differently." So it looks like he has learnt nothing at all!!!! Red Bull and FIA need to come down on him for his assault on Ocon. It doesn't matter what Ocon did there is no excuse for Max's behavior in the weigh in area. Without any punishment he will not learn and I can see him causing some real harm to someone in the future.
I can sort of see their point, up to a point. Hass came in and had to wait 2 years for prize money. As far as they are concerned a new team came in (FI's points zeroed) and they paid an additional entry fee. So according to the rules a team must design and build a chassis. Then again I thought the team had to own the IP. Maybe the new FI bought the IP thus they own it!!! I do think it's a bit rich of Hass considering all the 'help' they received from Ferrari, and the benefits Ferrari had (extra wind tunnel time etc.), before Hass's first season as there were no rules stopping it at that time. Then again rules are rules and they must be applied equally to all.
Wonder if this is related to Hype? They were rejected by FI and will be title sponsoring Haas next season. All a coincidence?
Red Bull finishing the season with some serious speed. Not perhaps ideal as it's a higher target to aim for next season with a new PU
I wonder if they are ignoring Renaults instructions on what power modes they are allowed to use as it doesn't matter if the PU blow up as they can't lose 3rd place in championship plus they are not using Renault power next year
Well he is being.encouraged by idiots like Horner, what do you expect? People are giving Max the impression that he is Gods gift to motor sports, and his head will continue to swell with loads of arrogance, and little sense. Somehow he believes that every driver should move out the way when he is overtaking or should never try to overtake him. He sees that as a sign as disrespect. Well he will learn the hard way thst he doesnt have the sole right to the whole racetrack. He runs off the road and rejoins in a dangerous manner and suggests Kimi should have moved out of the way to let him back on track...and the guy was actually blaming Kimi for not moving.out of his way...lol. thats the logic behind his thinking. Remember when Vettel said he wanted to speak to him about his driving and he replied that he doesnt need any advice from Vettel? Imagine a four time world champion giving you free advice and you are too pigheaded to acknowledge it. Look at how arrogant he was after the last race when Hamilton told him you had more to lose...well, now the other drivers know how to yank his chain. He has shown them his weak spot and they will capitalise on that. What will happen is he will either crash into people to make a point ...and lose points...or attack them after races...and lose points. Until the officials and team bosses show him he isnt bigger than the sport and until he himself understands that he just cant go about assaulting people because he doesnt like how they raced against him, or threaten to hurt somebody because his teammate outqualified him, then he will be a fast, aggresive sore loser. The quicker he learns self control, the more races he will win, but he doesnt seem capable of learning, not from wht continues to come from his mouth. Lets hope he does learn, becsuse he has thr potential to be a great driver
