Well this just goes to show and stacks up my previous posts
1, we are a very very poor side and its starting to show..big time..why?....no investment!
2,the gap between league one and BSP is so narrow you couldn't put a *** paper between it
3,we are going to be in the mire if GT keeps fannying around with these no hope loan signings, who lets face it ain't exactly setting the world on fire even before they got here
4, we should be looking at players who are doing well and scoring goals NOW, in my previous post i have mentioned quite a few, who i wouldn't doubt would come here for a few pounds more, and to finance it we can ship some of our dead heads out(and we have quite a few of them on the books now)
5,Ryan Bowman.....20 ys old and banging them in at a club who are struggling in the BSP...lets get him at our training ground!! and have a look at him, get rid of Hall(who was a waste of space yesterday),Dobie,Bradshaw,Wildig,Taylor,Gornell and Wright.....even Parry my only shinning light looked as though he wanted to be somewhere else yesterday. our defense is a shambles, our midfield is none effective and our forwards...well cant score goals.and our loan players Procter and Helan...aint going to turn this side around because the ain't that good
My faith in GT is is fading fast, Julian Bennett!! more like Gordon Bennett, the lad has never produced anything like the form he had after his bad injury, and he wasn't setting the world on fire then!,cheap players on the cheap will not save us, the team is far too fragmented now and GT is clutching at straws, filling holes with sticking plasters..He's now, i think lost his way drastically and we will soon go into free fall
he's 65 and our tight arsed chairman is 80 odd?....we are desperate for young blood to take us forward, we have not progressed after our promotion we have regressed instead!!...lets get some FORM players in now:emoticon-0101-sadsm

How can the gap be so narrow if players who excelled in League Two be struggling? Gornell, Tubbs, Richards and Jones are all players who were very good at one level below and can't make the step up, so why would players two steps below be able to handle it better?

We need some experienced players who have proven themselves at this level in the squad if we want to get out of this rut.

I agree we are certainly in the mire at the moment but I was most disappointed on Saturday with the lack of desire shown by many of our players (with the honourable exceptions of Summerfield, Taylor and Grandison). Hereford were no world-beaters but they wanted it a lot more than we did. Interesting to read a lot of discussion about Turner's position on Blue and Amber - some people have awfully short memories but what we would all like to see is some indication that the team is improving and that there is some sort of overall plan instead of the current shuffling of personnel and positions and the parachuting in of loan players who are not any improvement on what we have already.

As has been mentioned in another place, there needs to be some consistency in team selection. Too much chopping and changing does not breed confidence. The team on Tuesday needs to be told that, barring unforseen circumstances, they are in situ for a minimum 3 games.

The trouble is that it could well lead to complacency among the starters and despondency with the substitutes. It's a fine balancing act, but I agree that we need continuity. Bournemouth is almost a write-off now they've found their form, so even if we did lose it would simply be playing to the expected level. The same XI should start against Orient after that; it's not too short a rest period at this stage of the season.

I would go with, for the next three games (and any longer if we play well enough):

    ---------------------Weale

    --Grandison------Collins---Jones------------Bennett

    --Taylor----Summerfield--Richards-----------Helan

    --------------Proctor---Morgan

I wouldn't tell players that their places are assured for the next couple of weeks, though.

I'm surprised Proctor didn't start on saturday, but i suppose GT went for Experience first.

Well he is Banging them in and he's also in form, he's young and has plenty of talent, but our defense was so poor its hard to see where the line be drawn, but id take him over Helan and Proctor any day, and on their last two games showing i wouldn't pick any of them two for the start line up against the cherries anyway

Like your team Lenny......but your prediction of the score (7-5) means you probably won't get the score ratio right even if the 'result' is correct.

When we have a stable team and are safely in mid-table (!) then we could try Grandison in a 5-man midfield as the ball carrier in a 4-5-1 set up.....cos the one striker will be so prolific! Well, I've just woken up and seen what I've typed....thought I was dreaming!!!

Bowman has been no great shakes everywhere he has been virtually all non-league. Let's face it, every dog seems to have his day against Shrewsbury. We signed Richard Walker on the strength of that.

and yet we have Proctor, Helan and now Bennett, and they haven't shown ANY form for their host club's at all ...why are they here?....Cheap!, Like Wildig, he had a couple of weeks of "not bad form" for us and was given a contract..why...cheap (well free), but way way out of his comfort zone in this league. KDS, Bowman is 20 yrs old and hungry, he's coming out of his apprenticeship now and could be a good little investment, but will he make the grade?, who knows, but for sure Dobie,Bradshaw,Wildig,Taylor,Gornell and Wright wont!!

    Tinned Hats,
I think you are a bit harsh on some of our players - I for one would hope that Gornell and Wright can rediscover their confidence and have some part to play this year while it is very early days for Doble and we have not seen a lot of Helan (if he had shown form for the Champions he would not be coming to us!) and we have not seen Bennett at all. I am sure GT is more aware than anyone that the current strategy has not worked and we should give him the breathing space to turn things around as he has done after poor spells in the past - remember his teams are always stronger in the second half of the season.

The real bargains never appear to come from the BSP. Gillingham, Crawley and Dagenham seem to drag them up from lower leagues. Where is our scouting system that brought in players like Tester, Hackett, Robinson and Pearson from such leagues? Ron Jukes worked for GT as scout in those days and we have never replaced a Jock Fulton type figure in Scotland either.

Greenhous, im afraid i am a bit harsh but ive got every reason to be, as a paying supporter i want our players to give me valve for money win or loose, but ....they're not!!... . Can Gornell and Wright rediscover their form ?...well they have had quite a few games to give it a good go, but if the don't very soon it will be too late, we have spent a very long time getting into league one, we cant throw it away in the first season. We should use our upper league power to reap in the talent from the lower leagues. If you look at Chester, they will say to a player in the lower league "come and play for us,we wont up your wages in the first season, but if your good enough, we will offer you a two year contract, with a good wage package"....you get a hungry player looking for a better future...why on earth would the likes of Helan want to play out of his skin for us?....he will soon be returning back to his host club!!....

Almost got it right! Just Summerfield out for Wildig - I presume it's giving him a breather as he's started every game this season (only player apart from Grandison who I think that's true for) rather than dropping him, as he seemed to be our best player at Hereford.
