Having a boring day in the office and feeling nervous about tomorrow, so with the end of the season very close and hopefully our triumphal promotion even nearer, I want to raise a cautionary note. I have had a sneaky feeling all season that we seem to drop more points against teams that wear dark blue and dark blue with stripes/hooped shirts as their primary shirt colours, and I have done some statistics to see if this bears any fruit, particularly as we still need to play Peterborough who wear dark blue and Reading, and it does!!! So loooking at the games played and points we have gained against the various colours I get the following average point per game. So how will we fair in the run in? Orange - 0.5 pts per game Blue and white - 1.33 pts per game Red/white - 1.5 pts per game Blue - 1.53 pts per game Red - 2.14 pts per game Claret - 2.33 pts per game White - 2.5 pts per game Yellow - 3 pts per game Mustard - 3 pts per game So unfortunately we have to play both Peterborough and Reading and the average isn't very good. Thats helped however by Coventry where its 3 points and Middlesborough where its over 2pts per game. So based on these very basic statistics we will get an extra 8 pts giving us 90 pts which should be enough to go up but maybe not as champions
So if we get a draw and 1.33 points from Friday's game, Reading only get 0.67. That's as good as a win
