    Really happy for the lad.
    He's earned this.

Positive news for Newcastle United midfielder, but also means they may be without Mehdi Abeid for African Nations Cup in January

Mehdi Abeid has been rewarded for his recent sparkling form with a call-up by the full Algerian national side.

It could mean that Alan Pardew will be without his services in January with Algeria heading for the African Cup of Nations Morocco.

Abeid must try to impress in games against Ethiopia and Mali this month.

Algeria chief Christian Gourcuff has been delighted by his performances and he is in with a shout of going to finals.

Speaking on his recent form, Abeid said: “It’s unreal for me to play against big sides like Liverpool and Manchester City in one week.

“It’s fantastic getting more experience. I’m learning against big players and now I have to keep my head down.

“I want to prove I can do a job for the team and the coach.”

A bit harsh, it would ruin his career and he'd be sold to Fat Sham for a packet of crisps.

**** news. I don't really care for Algeria's international fortunes. Nor am I bothered about the whole "getting called up will help his confidence and improve his game" ****e. We are man down in Jan, having already lost Cisse and Tiote.

Burn the witch that is Gourcuff

Win some, lose some - MYM recalled by France, Cabella ignored.

    Pardew out.

Is the final sentence related to the rest of the post in some way or is it just sort of a reflex grunt ?
