Who wins for you? Post songs if you wish Personally thought both were ****, but increasingly liking Abba songs, apart from ****ing dance queen now thanks to that demented old hag, Theresa May
There will only be one clear winner I am afraid, which will be the Beatles. Even though their songs were mostly garbage imo. Given the choice I would choose ABBA over the McCartney/Lennon duopoly show any day of the week, but I am likely to be in the minority. P.S The Stones own both of them, hands down
Well my heart went boom when I crossed that room And I held her hand In miiiine... Poetry worthy of the great Chuck Berry there from the loveable scousers...
Never really liked the Beatles. A couple of their songs were alright but apart from that I never saw the fuss. Don't really know any ABBA songs apart from Dancing Queen
Forgot Rickie Lambert. Much man love for Rickie. Craig Charles is alright I suppose. Jennifer Aniston > Jennifer Ellison
But Jennifer Aniston isnt a scouser What about Kim Catrall? Maybe not Sex and the City, but Mannequin and Big Trouble in little China. Plus she was one of the first scousers to make it big stateside. please log in to view this image
The main difference is ABBA may have had a few number one hits but they didn't really change the direction of music. The Beatles pretty much set the standard and steered the direction pop music moved in the mid 60's. Comments along the lines of "I don't like them" etc are rather irrelevant. The Beatles are from a different era. If you were around 60 years ago you probably would like them. I'm not a huge fan of Beatles or ABBA but you have to respect the influence the Beatles had... I like some of the work of both bands and own a greatest hits CD of both... But I don't listen to either bands music regularly at all. I'd pick Fernando as my favourite ABBA song and Let It Be is my favourite Beatles song (only because I sing "Let me Pee" instead). My favourite oldies band from 60's would probably be "The Turtles". It is impossible to listen to Eleanor without singing along.
