4-4-2 at Southampton for sure... anything else would just be absurd.

in a way, the injury crisis (yep, it's already basically a crisis) is kind of a good thing as it's exposing just how threadbare the squad is.

since we know that Pardew won't get fired, and we know that Ashley won't invest as long as we're looking safe from relegation, basically our only hope is for things in the first half of the season to be so dire that Ashley is forced to bring in new players in January.

Jesus could we get some good news for once?

How about 'BREAKING NEWS: Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has for some reason wandered into the Lion enclosure at West Midlands safari park and was tragically torn apart by the ravenous beasts.

<laugh> I love our club's continual underestimation of the fact we might get injuries each season <laugh>

To be fair, nobody at the club thought Aarons would actually be needed, so it's not like a first teamer got injured. No, all we have is SDJ out and it's a crisis. Really don't understand it at all.

Either way it's bad - on the one hand, we now have no potency, and on the other the manager has an excuse.

At least make it realistic. We all know Alan would first dazzle them with his smile before taking down the beast with his death stare.

BREAKING NEWS: Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has for some reason wandered into the Lion enclosure at West Midlands safari park but tragically the ravenous beasts suddenly became toothless up front and several of them went down with injuries, leaving the silver fox to face nothing more than cat calls and a good licking until the reserve's keeper stepped in to defend him!
