ffs. The lad is ****ed and now out for the season. Poor fella. Hope he recovers soon but the harsh reality is he isn't fit for enough games.

Like rolandocop. It's baffling to say the least that this kid is built from glass. Maybe he's a marvels comic hero he just has not found his ability yet but it seems he is broken.
I'm amazed at how good and effective medical procedures are these days but 12 minutes for an ACL must set new standards.
Thinking he's a Darren Anderton, aka Sicknote. Can't see it getting any better as he's supposedly at peak personal fitness at his age and just seems to injure very, very easily. Bet he's glad he recently signed a new contract.
Contract is pretty much gonna make him financially secure for life, if he'd been released cos of his injuries, he'd no doubt have had a series of failed trials, and then ended up playing for Whitley Bay, Consett and Ashington like all of our failed kids. He's got lucky. It's not like he doesn't look after himself and get constant injuries as a result, like Dyer, Woodgate etc, with Aarons he just doesn't seem to be physically strong enough to have a proper career as a footballer. You can compare him to Anderton, but Anderton never had constant injuries like this lad has. It's beyond bad luck now, Aarons clearly isn't up to it physically.
I imagine at least £10k per week, maybe more; so you're talking over half a million a year for 5 years, which will nicely set him up for life. In terms of him being a once sought after talent, it's not that much, but in terms of reality, i.e. he's a permanently injured crock who's only actually been any good for 3 games, it's extremely generous. Considering most youth team players are on about £100 a week before being released and joining Consett or Jarrow Roofing and playing for a mars bar and a can of coke, he's been massively lucky.
I think clubs have insurance these days anyway for long term injuries. This will offset some of the cost surely.
I don't think there is much chance that Knockaert is going to push through a move. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37914763
Would we get insurance paid? We got that Owen only because he was injured on international duty, this is as a result of our own training. and he'll take home his full wages surely? The only time wages are affected is if a players on a pay as you play deal like Owen was at Stoke. Aarons really is farce, he's played 22 games in 3 years, which is now going to become 22 games in 4 years, that's a worse record than Woodgate, worse than Dyer, and even worse that bloody Siem De Jong!!! I wonder if contracts have clauses inserted that they can be terminated for a stated pay out if a player doesn't make a minimum number of appearances? I don't want Aarons to fail, but we can't have a terminal crock like this constantly on the books in the vain hope that he'll make it one day.
We probably should have just let him go. Shame for the lad but he is never going to be fit enough to play professionally on a regular basis.
Cracking talent for his age. There is an issue now though. Two big problems. One, is this just the way things are going to be and secondly, how much development has been lost. He was a high prospect, no more than that. He hadn't shown an awful lot on the pitch, and had not had many opportunities. So it takes a big leap of faith to think he will ever realise what was undoubted (unless you knew zero about football) potential. Might be time to give up on him unfortunately. When players are continually injured at a young they never become what they promised to be. Feel sorry for the lad its one thing after another. Sometimes though you have to be ruthless.
