He's getting on a bit but at least it secures an attacking option.

Mildly surprising - I'm happy as long as he's not on too much and it is understood by both player and club that he'll be acting as cover for a different, 1st choice strike partnership (Kodjia +1 most likely).

He's played in every single game this season, quite impressive

I believe that the number of games played has triggered a year add on clause on the contract.

He is the "father influence" of the team, might be a bit slower but makes up for that with his positioning and important goals

He has been an excellent servant for us and that clause in his contract may well mean he doesn't earn his wages for next season but you have to weigh this up against his value to us in the last two seasons. I for one don't begrudge him as he is to me a good old fashioned centre forward, able to hold the ball up , put himself about and score a few goals as well. As JGF says he is a senior pro able to influence the team as a whole

He is the only player we have in the squad that we can bring on for the last 20 to help preserve a lead, especially away from home.. he can defend set pieces well and hold the ball up front to wind the clock down when required.. invaluable if used correctly.
