- Confirms Aaron Wilbraham will be City skipper for 2015/16, with Korey Smith as vice-captain Read more at http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/...s-conference-2597017.aspx#itq5KxkkK6q5etob.99 This guy deserves it,my player of the season last season, top pro leads by example well done Aaron terrorize those defenses.
Odd to have a striker as skipper, normally a central mid or defender. Perhaps a shrewd move from SC to take any pressure of the younger guys who may have felt burdened by it
Not a fan of striker captains tbh. Should be a defender or defensive midfielder imho. But that's why I work in financial IT and SC is a football manager......
Strange choice IMHO I don't expect him to play more than 30 league games this season and therefore Korey Smith or someone like Flint would have got my vote as Captain and as players who hopefully will play virtually a whole league season. I therefore hope that SC isn't expecting 46 games from Wilbs.....?
In many ways, I think it's a way of grooming Korey Smith for the captain role. Wilbrahimovic will be the captain most of the time, but Smith will be the one pulling the strings and wearing the armband more often than not.
good choice target man " mon ami " so less pressure for wilbs, and KS marshalling the defence could be shrewd move
Got no issues with anyone on the pitch being a captain, lead from the front! A few years ago, for his work rate and encouragement he gave the players around him, John Stead should have been considered a captain. Alan Shearer captained Newcastle AND England, and was by far the best thing thats happened to that club and the last good thing that happened to England national team when you think about it! Talent, strong leader, class, good pro, striker.
