It seems he's close to leaving us(Hull), to come to you on loan(Millwall wanted him, but it seems we weren't keen on him going to someone high up the table).

He's very hard working and a very nice bloke, but he can't hit a barn door, even if he's inside the barn and all of the barn walls are doors.

His hobbies are eating at Nando's and tweeting in the style of a New York rapper.

    More to follow...

Quietly happy with this, I think decent signing and maybe better than what we have!

What is his general build up play like, pace etc ?

I don't expect goals from him, just a contribution!

He can control a 50 yard aerial pass with a delightful touch and take it in his stride. However, any 5/10 yard passes along the deck, he can't control at all and will have a similar first touch to that of Gervinho. He's fairly quick and powerful as well as winning a lot of headers for his height. His finishing is at it's best when he has no time to think. If he's put through on goal and the only option is to hit it, I'd fancy him to bury it. If he's run 10/15 yards before reaching the 'keeper for a 1-on-1, most likely he'll lash it wide. I think he'll do quite well for you, with the type of football McCarthy tends to play, Mac should fit in well.

Bags of effort and power with good pace too, his weakness is that he's not very good at football. If the balls falls to him in a goalscoring position and he hasn't got time to think he'll hit it and it'll either break the net, or the face of someone on row z.

But a top guy and he'll raise morale of your dressing room tenfold, very popular with younger players despite being 29!

To be fair a perfect player to help you move closer to safety, will not stop working for the full game, really hope he does well for you and helps you climb the table, he wont get you many goals i doubt but will definately lift spirits and moral.

Down the middle he can be an hand full not very tall but does head well and will never stop working, he is very strong but has others have said he can score a wonder goal but then with a great chance he dosn't keep his composure and blasts it wide. Having said all that i think he had a decent goal scoring record until he came to us so should be a decent signing

Jury is out... while I'm never over the moon about loan signings if we can add two permanent quality first teamers and plug the gaps with loans to get us to the summer then that will have to do for now.

Rumour has it we were willing to pay you a million to take him off our hands, but McCarthy was reluctant to take him permanently for anything less than ten...

He'll do a good job for you. He was really useful as part of a 3 pronged attack (we didn't see that much but when he played with Simpson and Fryatt he was a handful).

He'll work tirelessly and if he is partnered up front he could come good. As someone else has said already if he shoots using instinct he's great: if he has time to think he'll miss.

Amazing how high he can jump for a short fella.

Another deal done without everyone knowing about it. Mick's certainly not hanging around in addressing the problem areas of the squad. He knows we needs to replace the goals from DJ and has done so within a couple of days of his departure by adding McClean and McGoldrick. He likes his Mc's does our Mick.
Well done all involved (including Clegg)

What is refreshing is the absence of 'I would like to bring in a few players but I can't make the deal happen' sob stories.
