Roadworks on the A63 and M62 may affect your post-match journey.... The Club would like to advise supporters of two road closures taking place on the night of Monday 15 September when Hull City take on West Ham United at the KC Stadium, which may affect your post-match journey. Between 8pm next Monday to 6am the following morning, the A63 westbound western interchange (Ferriby/Humâ Bridge) to South Cave will be closed, with fans advised to use the A614/A1079/A1034. Meanwhile the M62, junction 36-35(Howden to M18) westbound will also be closed, with fans asked to follow the local roads to Selby via the A614/A645 before turning off at junction 34 to turnaround and take the road eastbound to exit onto the M18. Away supporters are advised to use the Humber Bridge to avoid these works. The closures are due to overnight resurfacing of the roads. http://www.hullcitytigers.com/news/...-h-roadworks-1903424.aspx#HPiOcacWxEDkRw2j.99
The choice of road closures in our area are appalling. Couldn't they wait until the Sunday? Then they have 2 weeks with no City match. Or is that slightly too logical for the HCC?
I imagine there are lots of considerations which determine the timing of road closures/repairs and the inconvenience to what will probably be a relatively small number of additional road users (I'm sure a lot of w. ham lads come by coach or train?) may not be all that significant. Local fans will know the other routes well enough so it's not the end of the world for them either. And anyway is it so bad using the Humber Bridge?
What about all of the Hull City fans that travel from out of town for the game, most of us use the A63 after the game?
Speaking of which, what are they playing at in West Hull lately? Spring Bank West had roadworks for the best part of a year for that bridge to be replaced, and some gas works underneath it at the same time I think. Now, must be no more than 6 months later they've dug it all up again in the same place. How the **** can it need doing again so soon?
I'm one of them and I'm not bothered in the slightest. I'll quite happily take a different route if the means the road gets repaired.
Except for the ones who live north, east or in the city..... Think of it this way, the next time you drive home after a home game it'll be on a nice new road surface.
I'm wondering which bit they're resurfacing, the middle bit(Melton/Welton/Ferriby) is all new, if it's either side of that, why are they closing so much?
Amazing, doesnt that sum it up? A person's first thought is to blame the council. The trains are running late again - bloody HCC...
Is this simply a case of something being cast in stone before the game was shifted (in mid-July, I think) to the Monday night?
The road closures will have been planned months, well before the Premiership fixtures were announced, do you think they should abandon them just so a few thousand football fans don't have to deal with a little delay ? Perhaps the Premier League should equally consider rescheduling our game vs West Ham For the West Ham fans using the M1, M18, M180, A15 isn't going to affect journey times much
Apparently they are doing work on all 3 lanes between the North Ferriby exit & South Cave exits of the A63, there are no other exits between those points as the work would have closed the Brough exit & do not want large volumes of traffic getting as far as Ferriby & finding the road closed forcing all the traffic to have to then detour back through Ferriby
More lost business for the Shell garage at Melton, those poor sods seem to suffer every time this work takes place
Maybe they are putting up new boundary notices, for all you poor bastards that may be facing a change in authority.
We won't be changing anything, had our ballot papers and so far nobody I know has voted yes, we want nothing to do with the tinpot Hull City Council, I doubt anyone but those in the most deprived areas will consider wanting HCC to have anything to do with them
I can't understand the point of Hull City Council. They may as well have one authority East Riding, let them do the full region.
