Just felt I had to say that the much maligned second choice keeper played well today. Commanded his area and made. A great stop from Ozil
Distribution could have been better but all on all a confident performance.

Also cissokho was almost average. Still panics when he has the ball but better than I have seen him before.

    i don't know mate,

hard one to say whether miggs would have made any dif(better shot stopper though), i just didn't see the point in playing a strong line up but weak goalie considering how poor at the back we have been lately.

Don't think he had a lot of chance with either goal. Mig might have done better but we will never know.
I know a lot on here don't like him but I thought he did everything that was asked of him.

i will say one thing in his defence that impresses me more than miggs seems to in that he commands his area better, ie if he is going for the ball for a punch.

  5. I support Jones. He is a good back-up keeping who rarely lets us down.

would you 2 be happy going forward with him though if we got top 4 finish?

He did all that was expected of him. Made a couple of superb decisions to claim the ball/get rid, that I'm not sure Migs would have made.

I too have no problem with him as a backup keeper. When called upon he often has a very sturdy, if unspectacular game. Anybody who thinks Reina would happily sit on our bench is way off the mark.

I think so. Reina will go and a more experienced keeper won't want to be a bench warmer and will want high wages .

you don't ever see him coming back and the 2 (ie reina and miggs) fighting to be number 1?

miggs is young enough and may give him more ump to prove himself if he has proper competition for his spot, and we would have a class keeper either way hopefully then.

Thought he did pretty much everything right. Made a couple of really good saves as well and his distribution was pretty good at times.

Perfect back up keeper to have.

  14. I would give a full in depth answer but I think a simple no will suffice

Yeah, Jones looked fine today. Don't think he's terrible by any stretch, seemed more sure footed and confident than any game last season. Hopefully he'll improve some more.

Very deserved shout out to our second choice keeper <ok>. Showed Mig how to command the area.

Ciskos been improving for 8 straight games now... diminishing returns towards the average limit.

I thought he played excellent. No fault at either goal.. would Mig have saved them? Maybe.. but they would have been top saves and unexpected. You'd call it a miss rather than a save given the position they were in.

His judgement for crosses was spot on. Caught when under not a lot of pressure, punched when under some.

Shame he's just as **** with distribution as Mig <laugh>

I doubted him before the game but he proved me wrong so fair play.

How strange this game is, i generally dont have major beef with Jones, but felt he could have got to both goals, but more importantly there were many occasions where he had the option to pass the ball either way to defender on his outside and he opted to just punt it up which resulted in giving possession straight back to Arsenal. Now there are times you will get away with that but just giving the ball to some teams will mean you dont get it back for long periods. Given that we are bringing the goalie into our passing game, at the back I do not see him staying as our backup for next season.

If you would get rid of him because of his distribution then would you get rid of Migs who's distribution is also poor at times?
