Just been studying the stats for our Bristol clubs this season. Noticed that Rovers only lost 5 league games all season - best in their league. City only lost 5 league games all season - best in their league. The only team in the entire country to better that was Chelsea who lost 3 league games. Also noted that Bristol Rugby only lost 1 league game all season - best in their league, Worcester being closest with 3 defeats. With City having won at Wembley and been promoted, Rovers winning at Wembley to achieve promotion and Bristol Rugby having made it to their promotion play off final, I can't recall Bristol's sports teams having had a more successful joint season. And of course Bath Rugby have made it to Twickenham for their final next weekend too, just to keep the other egg chasers happy! - so no matter where your sporting preference lies,we have been spoilt rotten this season in our part of the country.
Great post GWG but I just want to say regarding your above stat, I wouldnt compare Rovers/City stats with any team from the prem. They play 38 compare to our 46. If they had to play another 8 times, I would put money on them losing another 2 games at least, if that makes sense
Good point! Didn't consider that. Tend to agree about Chelsea losing at least 2 more games if they had to play another 8 games. As so rightly pointed out by Gasheadseamg79, City are being bank rolled by an egotistical mega millionaire so we'll discount their stats which I guess means that Bristol Rovers are without doubt the most successful team in the country. - Easy!!
I wouldnt go that far. We did have to play part timers. So they could argue while they are facing full time teams and losing 5, we had to play against part timers so should only be losing minimal games!
