sees the torch reach Southampton and the Liebherr tournament take place at St Marys. Just wondering how many people are planning to go?
That's better. I was getting a bit concerned that you weren't starting enough threads recently. I can rest more easily now. Not me. If it's a fine day I shall be taking an all-too-rare motorbike ride. Incidentally, I know the UK population is supposed to be the perennial chin-up and bear it people, but bloody hell, how much more rain do I have to put up with in a summer..?
Working I agree with TSS, when will this rain ever end. Mind you I am watching England beat the Aussies at Durham. People in t-shirts up there.
Can't have my at least one a day record falling TSS! Yes this rain is a real downer. Eldest due to captain his cricket club side tomorrow for the first time and it's bound to be rained off
I am going as is the very lovely Mrs Godders. We are both looking forward to it and are excited about seeing our new players. As for the rain I am beginning to suffer with cabin fever. Thursday I went to my youngest granddaughter's school sportsday which was the best day to mow the lawns and trim the hedges which I ended up doing yesterday morning in a light drizzle and only got half the job done. I was beginning to think I lived in a jungle as I hadn't been able to do it since I came back from my holidays.
I'm getting no end of grief from Mrs L about the state of our garden. She doesn't seem to accept torrential rain as an excuse!
I'm escaping this **** weather and will be in the States, although, forecast temperatures are up to 41 degrees for where I'm going. So rather than drowning I'm going to fry instead.
Off to Lisbon in a couple of weeks. Temperatures have been 25-29 for a month now and are predicted to stay the same. Don't want it any higher than that. Will make a great change from weather here, but will then drown when I get back.
No leave for me until after the Olympics and Paras. Hoping for an Indian summer in late Sept/October.
Am I the only one who thinks it's sodding cold too..? I consider myself an outdoor person and the last time I seriously thought about removing my t-shirt [apart from swimming or something like that] during a summer day in the UK was back in 2006..!
It's certainly not warm. I'm based near Trafalgar Square and even the Gay Pride marchers today kept most of their clothes on!
Used to wear crops and t-shirts for months in the summer...haven't worn them in the UK for two years now.
The cold and rain. It's that bloody Jetstream upstairs. It's been passing over the south of England, latitude wise, and that's far too south. It should be north of Scotland. I blame the Antarctic Ice melt, which means I'm blaming global warming, which was responsible for those many superb summers we got used to, several years back. Which was provided by high global temperatures from global warming, which melted the Antarctic ice... You can see where this is going..!
I am unfortunately attending my sister's wedding... and she's marrying a gooner. My garden is desperate for a trim too.
