This is not related to the West Brom game directly so if a mod moves it its a power trip <ok>

That siad....the context of the game tonight could not be more clear.... win or forget it.

LFC have bumbled along dropping points hither and yon all season long. Yet now the sharp end of the seaosn is coming a faint glimmer of hope still remains despite flat performances in both domestic cups costing us any real chance at silverware.

In short LFC host WBA tonight having seen spurs literally being carried on Gareth Bale's back through their last games, Spurs are right now "out of sight" for 4th. We have one game in hand and need to win it.

The week ahead is laid out in a perfect opportunity for our players to grab the chance to prove themselves up to the task.

    WBA.
    Zenit away
    Swansea

    Lets be clear.

Sturridge, Squarez, gerrard, johnson, reina, agger, skertl, lucas .... are all players we can safely say our opposition would love to have. then Enrique, henderson are in fine form and following up like don quixote riding a donkey while the rest charge on stallions is the inevitable downing... (very silver lining has to have a cloud eh?)

If these guys are worth anything its time to step up to the plate and deliver. 4th is out of sight unless these two games are won and won well before spurs come to town...

and of course sandwiched nicely in between these vital games is our last small chance at silverware in the form of european nights so loved at anfield. Zenit have Hulk... we can't rest players.

If we fail this week we can turn off the lights and come back in august, frankly competing for 6th and hoping to catch everton is not where our club needs to find a glimmer of hope. Last year 8th and a cup and another final was seen as failure (rightly probably in the context of history) so I hope we see the players on the field man up and the tactics chosen allow them to function positively.

    Roll on kick off!

MITO, I agree with you. I think you'll find your views reflected in my explanation to ShanksHatesThe Mancs on the Catching Everton thread.

Have to agree MITO. Forget Oldham (at least I'm trying to). Good quality performances against both L'Arse and citeh, and we should have won both.

I DEMAND 3 points tonight and fully expect them to deliver. We live in hope.

I went and read your comments there and they are quite correct.

This is why seeing johnson, garrard and suarez all play 90 mins midweek in a meaningless friendly so annoying. in preparing for this week you'd hope that senior pros like that could say to their respective international managers that fairs fair here and give them a break... we are "cursed" with guys who try to hard eh?

I am hoping we look lively and can continue to look that for the following games.

time to man up cos west brom are a bunch of no hopers who've dipped in form and we should be taking advantage of that big time.

Agree with OP - big week for LFC. Would love to think we can comfortably win tonight and not get beat in Russia whilst resting our key players (Gerrard should not travel to Russia IMHO)

Swansea will be interesting - I just hope the fixture congestion doesn't skupper our chances against a high tempo passing team.

    Must win tonight.
