    Morning lads.

We seem to get a few disagreements about bans (wether certain users should or shouldn't be banned).

I know if it's racism or people like shafiq (constant wum) then bans should be appropriate without argument. But there has been a few bans for people on here that some haven't agreed with.

So what I suggest is, and unless it's racism ect of course, we should have a public vote on the safc board for safc users only to vote. And the majority will decide if the person should stay or go. That way, arguments are avoided, and makes life easier for the mods ect?

Just an idea of course, and hope I'm not shot down here.

Well you can look at it that way, i won't shoot it down, but, i still believe it should be down to the mods to decide..

When i say mods, i mean all of them together to decide, not just one person. If the majority of the mods are in agreement, then that should be final imo. They spend a lot of time on here, having to read some utter tripe in between the good.

Shall we have a vote on which of the two statements above are correct?:D

It should be down to the mods only.

If it goes to a vote by the members of this forum then whats the point of having Mods? We may as well just vote on everything.

I'm not suggesting that members can't have a say in the matter, it's a forum FFS, but the Mods need to have the final say and backing of the members.

To be fair, in the past our Mods have usually put any 'ban' decisions to the board anyway, it's only recently that bans have been given without prior notice to the board.

I don't believe in bans at all unless they compromise the sites integrity.

Why don't we just tie the offenders to a chair and get out the comfy cushions?

No to voting from me. That's what the mods are there for.

We'll end up with half the threads discussing banning some wum, etc.

It ain't broke, don't fix it.

Think the reason for the thread mate was me kicking off the other night over the disability remark. I had had a very bad day with Lollie and that remark was like lighting the fuse..

Which ban recently has brought this on? If you look back at the banning thread they happen rarely.

A vote on bans doesn't really work as those against some knobhead being banned aren't going to be all that bothered either way.

Those voting for the ban will most likely feel far more passionately about it. We've had people leave the site because of wums and the effect they have on the board.

I agree, I don't post much on these boards now but when I do and I hear the sad word reference to disabled people, I flip. Yeah, we all post a bit pissed at times but we don't go back to the schoolyard as adults and we do keep our dignity. There's nowt funny about about severe disability or the people that give up there lives to look after our loved ones that suffer that fate, it gets to us more than anyone could imagine..
