What a let down it was yesterday against Villa. Despite the new signings we were worse than last year by a country mile. Lets hope for better things to come.
I agree, how high we all were about the new season I suppose we were always set for a fall, it was a poor performance and im sure that we will be far better against Hull. up the might potters
First games are always difficult to define a season and with the new players it will take a few prem games for everyone to settle in. Possession remains good and you can always build and work with that - it's along season and let's remember, we have spent a Net 1.5 million.
I'm disappointed with yesterday but give them a chance to settle and with Huth coming back to shore up the defence I'm more than happy with the potential for this season.
The season starts with the first minute of the first game JM, not half way through the season. We had exactly the same time as Aston Villa to "settle in". Aston Villa should be one of the clubs that we expect to beat. They were poor but we were worse.
The team were flat, but so were the crowd! From the walk to the ground, all I could hear was Villa fans. There were a couple of bursts of 'oh when the reds' and a very weak Delilah, but little else. We were out-played and out-sung throughout the game. I thought the Villa fans drove their team on throughout the game; almost always up and singing. They were great. Disappointed but not despondent yet. I'm sure everything will settle down.
M, Just trying to keep a positive spin after a poor performance, thanks awfully for pointing out when the season starts, I never would have known that, I'm so blonde sometimes.
It was my first game at The Brit. since we drew 0-0 with Reading before they were first promoted , my only previous visit. It was a most depressing performance that day , and on Saturday I thought - nothings changed. So that's two matches in ?? years , aggregate score , 0-1 But hey " Keep the Faith ". I hope I'm not the jinx , I've got a season card !
