Aston Villa get a point at the SDA; Southampton played some great stuff but lose to a great RVP hat trick; WBA beat a high flying Everton; Norwich grab a well deserved point at Spurs.

I think this is going to be a really open season where anyone can beat anyone on their day and having watched Man City, Utd, Arsenal (up really close the other weekend) and Chelsea, I honestly think that the top 4 are susceptible to dropping points this season, especially on their travels.

Southampton may be bottom but they have played some bloody good football and if they can find their feet quickly and start transferring that play into points, they will put a fight up. The gap between bottom and top isn't the massive cavernous gap it was even 10 years ago. Not many will fancy a trip to the south coast on that form and all clubs will have to battle hard for every point they get this campaign.

The EPL has never felt so balanced imo, where there isn't such a definitive stand out team. The ones to beat are still the usual suspects but its closer than at anytime in recent years and I think its for the better.

    Anyone agree?

Absolutely - and I think the signs have been pointing this way for a season or two - never, I suspect and hope like now. Would have been even better if Southampton had got their point, but never mind we may be in a season where all and I mean all must be totally up for it to take three points.
    PLEASE :)

I agree wholeheartedly, it bodes well for any side that can grab points on their travels and make their home patch a fortress, this could be us!

The early results and performances suggest that it is going to be a season full of surprises, and could well turn out to be the most open league in many a year...

If we can get our act together we could be right up there with a bit of luck

In short, I guess I am saying that there wil be no easy games for any club and included in that are the big 4 or 5 clubs too. The money every club now has from the TV money has equalled the game up a bit as there simply isnt enough top quality for the like of Man Utd, City or Chelsea to just go out an buy up. Every club has game changers and match winners and thats not been the case for decades.

I think the EPL will be much improved for that.

That's what I mean - but the home fortress is not to be taken for granted Man U or Southampton, Chelsea or Reading - all have to be shown the same respect or you end up with egg on our faces.
I think nothing will be given away this year. Earn or lose it.

Said this a while ago Cest, this could definitely be the most wide open Prem season since it's inception.

The middle table teams have consolidated, the lower ones have impressed and the top teams have looked vulnerable.

Hopefully we can take full advantage of this and climb the table.

    Onward and upward.

    Ha'Way the lads!!!!!!

Totally agree but I feel the middle of the table is stronger than last year. I think top ten will be tough for us.

Couldn't give you three for relegation at the moment. It will be interesting to see the table after ten games.
