Taking a look at our next four opponents they are all in the top half of the division and 2 of them are currently first and second. Now I don't care whether you are in the positive or negative column you must admit that under any circumstances it is a potential minefield when you consider we need points to progress to some kind of safety. If you throw in a cup replay then it makes our task even more difficult and any suspensions or injuries could hinder our chances even more. However the mood has changed on this forum given that we have finally started to show some life combined with many positive aspects in our style of play that many feel that the tide could have changed in our favour at last. I reckon that if we could gather 6 points from the four matches, especially since 3 of them are away at very dangerous opponents, then our optimism based on the last few games could be well placed, and if we do even better then perhaps our season stands an excellent chance of being saved. What are your opinions based on the very positive comments from the people who attended the last couple of home games? Should we be cautious or throw everything at the opposition to gain points? The Wolves match brings back bad memories from last season when we were well up and gave them the points through poor management and lacklustre play, and I believe it was the turning point in a season when we could have stayed up if we had won on that particular day because after that bad result the free fall was very evident.
The wolves game was a turning point, I was there that day and both teams were diabolical. We played well today against a championship side so it looks positive for the future which will either be backed up or dismissed after the next few games.
We can hopefully go into these games with a bit more confidence after recent results and performances. I still maintain that this is a very poor league overall with the teams below mid table being very poor indeed.
We do seem to play better against those sort of sides, and lets face it- we lost away to Crewe, drew with Notts County, Lost at home to Sheff U and rescued a point against Shrewsbury. Interesting to see that Yeovil put 4 past Orient yesterday. I reckon we could have got all 3 points if the game was on.
As Angelic says. But regardless of if we was top middle or bottom every game should be treated as a difficult game.
