Elis James mentioned this critical match for Swansea in 2003 on the BBC Lawro prediction challenge, he says.. "Elis James: I was at the 'James Thomas' game against Hull in 2003 when he scored a hat-trick and Swansea avoided relegation to the Conference, which was one of the most extraordinary matches I have ever been to, so I am able to put our current struggles in perspective." Here's the match report.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_div_3/2976539.stm I had to Google Otsemebor (John as it turns out), seems he was a Liverpool loanee, was in Turkey at this period so was out of the loop.. Also who was the player called Smith?
Surprisingly, he turned out to be (probably) Peter Taylors worst ever buy - played almost 400 games for Crewe, many of them as captain but looked like a scared rookie when he dropped into Div3 from a newly relagated Div1 Crewe.
