Despite that unforseen and devastating loss to Basel last week, I think United had what they deserved. When you cannot beat the likes of Benfica and Basel even once at home and away, then you truly are not a great team and therefore do not deserve to compete at the highest level. United is a team in transition. The wins at the start of the season gave the wrong impression. The loss of Scholes was not replaced and it is now obvious he is being sorely missed. I said before last week that we should just forget about the champions league and focus on getting the best we can out of the premier league. Vidic is out but the good thing is that Ferdinand is back and Nani, Valencia and Rooney are getting their form back. Hernandez is also being missed. What has been obvious also is how much VDS had saved United. Many goals had been conceded by De Gea which VDS would have probably saved. E.g the first goal aginst Basel last week. A solid GK like VDS is absolutely essential. If United wins the title I'll be amazed. I think a CL place is more likely.
I agree. Its really going to be exposed this weekend at QPR. United disgracefully bribed the referee to add 7 minutes of injury time in 1996 which ultimately led to Rangers' relegation. Not forgotten.
Equalizer that practically relegated us . Only kidding about the bribing, I'm just a bitter git! Looking forward to a great game this weekend. United back on form v Wolves. I still tip yis for the title.
