I know its not much, but a win tomorrow would probably see us finish top half. This would mean we avoided playing a Carling Cup 1st round match in the midweek before the 1st league game. Would be abit **** if we had to play in the cup cos it would disrupt preparations and could lead to another 1st day mullering! and itd 1 less game in another long season Seems irrelevent but there is something to play for tomorrow! Just trying to be positive!
And Bates the Bastard will be thinking "Hope we lose so we get an extra cup tie to charge a fortune for"!
Ha, I didn't even think of that. Thanks Logi, that together with the trips to the bookies I've been making to keep myself dying of boredom for the rest of the season, I'll have a proper reason to get behind Leeds again tomorrow Cheers man, you've honestly made me feel better about the end of this dull season.
Much better to go to a game with something riding on it, however minor it may seem. Add this to wanting to beat big spending leicester, showing beckford what hes missing and not wanting the record for home defeats in a season i think we have enough motivation
Exactly. But still feels... meh. Tbh I would describe the whole feeling around Leeds United at the moment as... tacky. It's all just tacky.
Every "offer" to try and attract more business and more income... it's all additional and costs more money. It just sickens me... it's all just so, so tacky.
I don't know where you've got this from? It's usually only a couple of teams that get byes in the first round depending on how many entrants to Europe there are. Last year only Birmingham and West Ham didn't enter, Blackpool had to. Cardiff finished fourth and had to play in the first round, as did everyone else below including Leeds in 7th. As far as I know there won't be another dozen teams entering the Football League next season so the Maths would be pretty impossible for you to not play in the first round top half or not!
According to Thom Kirwin there was a few teams who missed the first round draw but not many. I don't think he was too sure really!
