I know it has only been three games but it seems to me that this will be a tight league. Last time we were here we were bottom from the start and pretty much stayed there all season ie one relegation place was secured from very early on. Given the results so far, there does not appear to be a stand out bad team(s). Burnley held their own, Leicester looked strong today and, of course, we won. Palace did well. Maybe West Ham had the worst game this w/e. All very tight. Agree or too early?
Things can seem ok early on and then injuries/suspensions take effect and usually hurt the 'lesser lights'. Also, the fixtures can be cruel. Villa, after a good start now have five of last season's top six in their next five games followed by QPR away! We'll have a better idea by the end of October who our main rivals will be but I'm sure it will be those teams mentioned plus West Brom and Sunderland...
Villa's early results are interesting, for some reason their start brings to mind Wolves start of a few seasons ago when after three games they too had seven points and looked to be set for a strong season. They were relegated that season. It it really is far too early to extrapolate at this early stage, but having a win in the bag for us is so important..
With reference to a certain thread after our game at Tottenham, Steve Bruce just apologised for Hull's performance at Villa.
