Clubs around us are doing the business, players leaving and arriving. We have a 19 year old from Arsenal which looks like he could be a tidy player. But nothing really coming from the club regards signings,or the lack of signings. I believe more people will sign up, if and when they see some action on the transfer front. All to quiet for my liking,it seems we have showed interest in players, but nothing as yet to show for it.
Agree with Shiny - early days yet - and we have made bids for people (like Flint), so things going on
I'd rather see us do business now, rather than later, considering the season is over. It would be ideal if we had made our signings before the lads get together for pre-season. This season has extra significance and I want to see SOD and Burt to be allowed to do their business right away instead of working their way down a list with a limited budget and limited time.
I would prefer that myself but I have a feeling that we will have to wait a bit as we don't want a really bloated squad that leaves us in trouble with the League and get a transfer embargo imposed which would force us to sell players at below their going rate just to get the wage bill down. Especially as it might mean we miss out on other players that we need.
Ender spot on,how many times have we waited to the end, and scraped the bottom of the barrel trying to find players in positions we know need sorting.
Is this us fans being patient? Let's rush out and sign everyone whose available, and sign them up on long contracts so we have loads on our books. Let's post loads of threads about trusting the manager, then post more about nothing happening.
The above post only goes to highlight the problems at BCFC when we are talking about a player that most seem to agree would be good for us, and yet again we appear to have fallen flat on our asses. Our club has not appeared to be a destination of choice for many years, and now being a league lower we are disappearing off the radar. It is almost like they are saying if you have absolutely no ambition then Ashton Gate is your place, and if you need any convincing just look at the dross that has blessed our doorstep over the last 4 or 5 years. No wonder we have ended up down here when the management can't seem to get it right at any time. Sour grapes and lack of positivity I will agree, but this is not where Bristol City should be but our history does not do us proud unfortunately.
Although it is only on the rumour site I can find no conformation of this anywhere not on Swindons boards or in the BBC or local papers sites either.
Even for a pessamist like me this is early days lads, think we need to shift a few, Albert for sure, before we bring a few in
Will be easier to decide who else we need once those leaving do. At least it looks like S O'D has plenty of irons in the fire if we are to believe the various news stories about which CB's he is interested in also goalkeepers.
