and Grayson is happy with his squad. That's despite us basically playing 4-6-0, ending the game 5-5-0 without a striker of any description, and only being able to name 6 on the bench, with all 5 outfield players being defenders and 3 of them yet to make a competitive debut before tonight. We're in a mess and it's looking like a relegation battle.
I do agree we need a striker but i would like to add that thompson and the other youngster (the one that came on with about 3 mins on the clock been, coulda been turner, dunno) were not defenders.... And can you please find me a direct quote from grayson saying he is a 100% happy with the squad because last interview i saw with him he said we are going to sign one more player hopefully two (Quite certain this does not include trialists) before the end of the transfer window.
Becchio will be three weeks a way min.... if we can get a loan striker for three months i would be happier...
I would be happy if we signed a striker that the other team didn't want to go.... you know what I mean, because maybe they scored goals or something!, I mean a proper transfer. Not someone just killing time for three months or someone released by a tin pot league club.... Maybe I'm dreaming tho....
We had 2 attacking players on int duty, and Paynter injured somehow, thats why the bench was light in that dept. Snod, Grad and Nunez can all play up front if required. I`m sure that will be sufficient until Becc is back, if we keep playing football and not lumping it to poor old Ross who must have been tearing his hair out at times in the 1st half last night.
But I wouldnt say no to a target man coming in on loan for a month just to give us that option if Paynter is going to be out. The return of Vokes!
i would not mind Bedner from WBA for a bit. Now long has gone their...maybe worth a punt and a great option...
Didnt Howard go to Cardiff last season or am I getting mixed up? If Ross didn`t look capable, which I think he is and will be good for us, then I would have liked to see us go for Charlie Austin on loan to play with Paynter as he was warming bench until he scored at weekend. Could just be one of those partnerships where they gel wherever they play (to a certain point) but like Bright and Wright, and maybe we would see a very productive Paynter as we have personally seen against us he does have something in his locker somewhere.
a real proper sighning for a striker who really wanted to play for leeds wud be fantastic----alas it wont happen but competition for places wud be very good
Becchio will be back in 3 weeks min but will take a few weeks getting back to full fitness / bamby on ice
Heskey on a 3 month lone he won't score many but he'll bully all centre backs in this lge. holds ball up wins headers and takes no s..t easy problem solved. If only this could happen
