I know this guy - feel free to laugh, cry, despair or tut - but give it a read. http://stmarysmusings.sbnation.com/...travel-troubles-a-tale-from-an-away-supporter I think I'd have given up. DTLW
It's a story he will dine out on for years. Little kiddies will clutch his leg and say, 'Grandad, tell us how you travelled for miles and miles to miss a match.'
Reminds me of an Everton supporting mate of mine. We live in Bristol and he has an Everton season ticket so goes to 95% of home matches. He decided to go to the Merseyside derby at Anfield last year which was an evening kick off mid week. Massive crash on the motorway meant he was half an hour late for the game. Just as he took his seat Liverpool scored. After the game the motorway he would normally use was closed because of the crash so had to go on a massive detour to get home, meaning it took him over 6 hours to get home. Everton also lost the game 4-0. He still describes it as one of the worst days of his life
