I started a thread on here yesterday and finished with the strapline 'Hughton Out'. I also stated that today my feelings would remain the same and that I would still be calling for the manager's head. The problem I have you see, is that I'm a passionate football fan who cares deeply for his beloved club and sometimes in the heat of the moment I just have to let off steam, or as someone said on here, the cat would get a real good kicking ! I'm not really stupid, I don't think that Hughton should lose his job, (well not yet anyway). Ironic that the the only poster on here who could see through my emotions was a binner (Warky). Right, now to sensibly analise things. I think most will agree that Hughton's football can be quite turgid to watch. When good results are forthcoming, we as fans, overlook this because at the end of the day all that matters is winning, right ? We've had some bad results, but it's not the fact that we've lost games, (other than yesterday of course), it's the way we've lost them. Dreadful performances with the apparent lack of desire and fight. The next month is going to be crucial in my opinion we need to pick up points quickly or we will definitely be in that 'relegation dog-fight' if we are not already. In conclusion, I apologise for being a 'Pink Un' dickhead with my previous thread I haven't gone prematurely senile, it's because I really am a passionate fan and definitely not a PLASTIC ! OTBC CTID
Actually, seeing as I said your OP was a "knee-jerk over-reaction" I think it was plainly clear that I also 'saw through' your post. But you don't need to apologize; everyone was pissed off to the extreme after yesterday and really the only thing anyone should apologize for is that heap of **** performance our team put in yesterday.
Fair to say every ncfc supporter are disappointed and embarrassed about the result yesterday, so it's understandable people will get annoyed and say things in the heat of the moment. We're just on a bad run and it looks like we have no confidence, I'm sure things will turn around and improve. Hopefully we'll get a result against Spurs.
Let's be honest about it.By putting out a weakened side Hughton invited this result.Personally I am much more concerned with getting those ten or twelve points in the bag that we need for safety rather than getting one more round in the cup and then getting knocked out by one of the top six.I don't want to take anything away from Luton,a club that was harshly treated.I hope they get back into League2 this year.My guess is that if you asked their fans what they would prefer that would be their priority,so not much different from how I see ours.
We put out a weakened team but should still should have beaten Luton with those players. My question is, do you think some of these players are getting a bit annoyed at the lack of opportunity at PL playing time, and would this affect their outlook on the game yesterday?
Agree that there's no need to apologise mate, but I appreciate the sentiment nonetheless. Great post fella
Any player who gets only limited chances should bust a gut to show the gaffer they deserve a start every single week. On that proviso - barring further injuries, we've seen the last of Surman, Howson, Jackson, Barnett and Ryan Bennett for this season!
Never apologise for having an opinion, like you I was absolutely livid after the Liverpool match, my anger was more directed at the performance and attitude of the players during the game. Totally understand the anger though if only the players had the same passion as us fans.
You know what fellas, the strangest thing about yesterday was the fact that I was expecting a tirade of wumming and abuse on here from those blue boys down the A140. Yet there were hardly any, Warky seemed to stickup for me and the only real attempt at a piss-take was by our friend from the tesco carrier bags ! Mikey has now predicted our relegation and disappearance into oblivion so we can all now sleep easy in our beds and look forward to Premier League football next season and all the riches that go with it
I know I was probably most guilty of putting down your post KIO, I apologize for that. As everyone has said this is a football forum, should never apologize for your opinion. I think I should be the one apologizing for putting your post down the way I did. I think the reason Warky stuck up for you was because we were all pretty pissed off, and he was, in a way, a neutral (in a way) who probably wasn't as annoyed by the result as other Norwich fans.
Having supported City for over 40 years, I've learned that there are going to be good times and bad times, over years (remember starting the year in League One?) and within a given season. It hurts -of course it hurts, but, IMO, rubbishing the manager or the players does no good whatsoever. CH is the same manager who presided over the 10 match unbeaten run that put City where they are now. After a result like Liverpool or Luton, I've learned to turn away and concentrate on something else until the pain subsides. What the players need now is confidence, not criticism. How is being critical going to help the situation? Although a player or two might come in this week, the squad isn't going to change this season, a season which is critical to the club's future. Had Barnett's shot gone over the line or Holt's header gone in, then we'd be feeling better about things. The margin is that close.
KIO - excellent post. I felt pretty much like you yesterday, so whilst I may have browsed the site, decided the better option was not to 'fan the flames', so think I only posted once on the 'transfer' thread. I hope CH will see that unless Wessi and Holt are fully fit and playing at their absolute best, then he needs to maybe change formation and hopefully we may just see that happen if he succeeds in adding to the squad in the next 84 hours.
