See I haven't thought that any of the previous seasons - I always had a feeling we'd get out of it - this season my optimism has gone and I just can't see it! So we're probably doomed!
reckon they'll be a 2 or 3 successive back to back wins and then a couple of draws coming up next and everything will look better
At this moment in time yes. Depends on whether we manage to sign some decent players who can impact our relegation fight immediately though.
Predicting is tough, one team will survive, at least, that is in the bottom 3 now. Not Villa. You'll lose at least one more 'banker' between now and the end of the season, for sure. If you're cut adrift after the 3 games you've got coming up then it'll come down to size of testicles. For me, no, because you have a better manager and the most experience of fighting your way out of it, in that group at the bottom.
Yes. Norwich, Bournemouth, Swansea and Newcastle are all a little bit better than us. Either Bournemouth or Norwich will join us and Villa. That's my guess anyways. I've thought about what our team will be like in the Championship and I'm honestly not deflated about it. We will get rid of the old guard and players like Pickford, Watmore, Gooch and Beadling, could all become important first team players, and I'm confident these are good enough to get us out of the league and handle the step up. On top of the young players we will also have Cattermole, PVA and a few others who will stay. That is the nucleus of a very strong Championship team. I also believe we have the right manager to bounce straight back up with us.
No. Been saying all season we would finish 15th, Its getting harder all the time but still feel Sam has the ability to get enough out of this squad to see us over the line once again, don't forget none of the bottom half of the league has our experience in getting out of difficult situations. I think we will pick up at least four points from our next four games, and that will give us a chance.
I'm not so sure. I think we will keep our entire back line from the Prem because no one will want them. Catts will be off though imo, along with M'Vila, Johnno, Lens, and Defoe. Borini might jump ship also although I'm not sure anyone will want him tbh. That's a lot of players to replace, hard to guarantee we would bring in players of the calibre to be competing at the right end of the league, I'd have no faith with Ellis etc. still running the gaff.
As a reference, here's the points acquired after 23 games by clubs who went on to get relegated that season. 14/15 QPR - 19 HULL - 19 BURNLEY - 20 13/14 CARDIFF - 18 FULHAM - 19 NORWICH - 24 12/13 READING -19 WIGAN -19 QPR - 15 11/12 WOLVES - 18 BLACKBURN - 18 BOLTON - 20 10/11 BLACKPOOL - 28 BIRMINGHAM -23 WEST HAM -21 That's an average of 20 points at this stage being the most common amount of points to go down with after 23 games. Remove the anomalies QPR 15 and Blackpool 28 and you're left with 19.76 as the average. But you don't wanna know that, you wanna know how many teams have had 19 and survived in the last 5 seasons right? Wigan with 15 points West Ham with 19 points (with Sam Allardyce, 7 wins from his last 15 games against Swansea, Villa, Norwich, Southampton, Hull, Sunderland, Spurs, eventually finishing in 13th place... interestingly, not a single draw for them in the last 15). Leicester with 17 points... **** knows what's happened to them since. Since you come back up, you've never had less points at this stage of the season than you do now.
I automatically assumed this was Bri until the last paragraph when you said "you came back up" Makes for somewhat uplifting reading! Will be interesting to do a similar exercise after the next four games when we're probably still on 19....
Hey you've got to play Louis Van Gaal's army, you'll be on at least 22 after that! I think the Allardyce stuff looks interesting, he seems to work with a win or lose system but don't dare ****ing draw. He must have wondered what the **** was going on against Bournemouth. I wonder if he knows you get a point for a draw. He won 4 in a row coincidentally starting on the 24th game at West Ham, against sides in and around him, if you win 4 in a row now I'll eat my arms.
