Can the mods or anyone else for that matter explain the following points for me, (1) How points are awarded to your profile info, (2) How are different levels achieved, (3) What does rep power signify. thanks for your help.
Basically the more you post or comment on threads the more points you get awarded and levels achieved. The rep power is awarded by someone who likes what you have written/commented etc. TBH i wouldn't pay too much attention to it, you don't get anything for it. For more information go to your profile page, setting etc, it's all explained there.
(1) How points are awarded to your profile info, Its a mix of lots of things but basicaly the more you use the forum the more points you get, its on your profile page under achievements. (2) How are different levels achieved, Again its down to use, like when you start you are a newbie, then you become a member then on 100 posts a senior member. All designed to make the regular users feel better, works for some and others could not care less. (3) What does rep power signify. Rep power is easier, it shows what other users think of you but because its not used a lot it can be misleading. Ever post can be voted on, the little star at the bottom. Click on it and you can give positive or negative repuation on that comment. Probably have confused you even more now,

Points, Levels, Rep Power, Activity - load of b******s to me, but it does throw up some interesting thoughts and possibilities!! For instance, Syd has an "activity level" of 99.9%, what does he do with the 0.1% of his other time? Is this enough to complete all the necessary "jobs" he has to do or has he got a pc set up in every room?? Can we organise ourselves to award/take away rep power - could BB or MW (as our mods) find themselves with -100 rep power all of a sudden? Will any of us reach the destination on our "distinguished road"?? MPFC couldn't come up with this!
0.1% needed for sleep, ablutions and food. BB and MW keep altering there rep power but I block their fiddles, my fiddle overrides their fiddles. We will reach the end of that distinquished road when 7th place is ours and the unwashed are crying in 13th.
Bringing the unwashed into this (urgh - where's that disinfectant?) does make you wonder about their run in and just where they might finish. I reckon that they are just too far in front of the chasing pack, but if Carlsberg did collapses.....????
