    Afternoon Gentlemen.

I have been looking at the past couple of years with the club and thinking about what everything that has happened could mean. My thoughts lead me to only one logical conclusion, that we have a silent backer operating behind Scally, possibly in Dubai, likely the middle east on account of his time spent there.

The debt wipe, the ground transfer, the player investment and the sudden stop to AGM's where such information could come out, all interesting developments.

I know a lot of us moan about Scally in Dubai but has anyone ever had a real dig? He seems a highly respected figure in the comunity over there, last 2 years he has chaired the Kings School Dubai charity ball (an event that brings in 20k plus of notes in the bowl donations from the rich and powerful whose children attend the school)

The shareholder meeting this weekend is alledgedly about the new ground, where did we get funding for it? Scally and the club did not just magic up the millions needed and we are unlikely to take it all on tick, Scally for any faults he has is a good businessman and does not live well in debt, he has pulled this club back to the black pound and penny at a time and I cannot see him dumping us into a 20+ million hole for a new ground without some long term backing already in place.

If you ask me (and nobody does!) I can see a buyer for the club coming out in the next couple of years as the ground is finished and we look at an assault on the Championship. A silent owner with Scally still running the day to day club would be a good combination, a blank cheque for players, staff and improvements but with someone used to living on a much more frugal budget could create a winning formula.

Lastly on this, all these Sheikhs and Oligarchs involved in football are basically in a wallet waving competition, and what would show the biggest wallet of them all than taking the only club in Kent who have never won a league title and take them to heady heights picking up silverware on the way...?

There is a very, very bright future to our club. I can feel it. The revolution of MA is just the start.

Highly implausible, more likely he's just refinanced the debt, like most clubs.

Oh dear, I can feel a 'Petang' moment coming on, so let me ask a question, would this not be illegal?

If so I suggest a rethink of this thread. Let me know if you want it to disappear. Otherwise pretend I was never here.

Nothing illegal about it as I can see BRB.

Quite a few big companies have silent backers, people who are happy to finance the business but do not want to be publically known.

I would have thought everything has to be regulated in one way or another - Purely an example anti money laundering legislation. So I would expect there can be no such thing as a silent backer in the true sense of the word. But if you think everything is ok, that is fine by me - I am just being sure to ask the question.

I doubt that they would be that silent.

More in that the fans and general press have no clue.

The FA and the shareholders etc would be aware from the books we file with them

Ah, fair enough. Was not sure but I thought there might be something in the FA rules. PS is the majority shareholder so no probs there, I just wondered what the FA regulations were on what you are expressing.

I have had the thought before that someone else is funding the club so good to hear that someone else thinks the same.

I don't think that its an impossible theory, think Leeds until recently , but then also think Notts Co a short while ago. I suspect the FA would probably have to know about the silent backer but not necessarily have to reveal them in public. A decent post anyway.
