So here at the first enforced break in this tier We´re hit with a touch of reality, If we don´t get ourselves up out of first gear We serve up mid-table mediocrity The lesson to be learned is startlingly clear But whether they´ll heed it or not, Well your guess is as good as mine, me ol´dear But they have to if they want top spot The fact that we haven´t taken this league by storm Can that come as any surprise, Our start, I´d say, fits very much with the norm Of clubs eyeing up the big prize This league has become a competitive one And if we´re not there on the day, Then surely as day follows night, we´ll get done And probably prolong our stay Now if that should worry you, as it does some Then I hope you can get some cheer, But I wouldn´t be at all surprised, if come Next May, we still find ourselves here. Well RBF, I think you've really summed up where we are after just 5 games and whilst AN has been hampered to some extent by injuries, I'm a TAD concerned that he's saying one thing - ie "we're going to play attacking football, blah, blah, blah", but his team selections seem to contradict that statement IMO!!!
Playing without a proper striker against a struggling team, would tend to suggest a hint of contradiction.
- not only down to Neil though Braveheart, we looked far too physically lightweight, and came out with the wrong attitude. Birmingham, with far simpler means, out-fought and out-played us, and that will happen plenty more times in this division if we don´t start to play ´the Championship way´ ( blood and thunder) rather than ´the Premier League way´ (pretty passing) - we won´t meet many Blackburns this year, who just roll over and let us play.
Exactly - see my post (http://www.not606.com/threads/birmingham-city-v-norwich-city.335105/page-6#post-9639547) on the MTD thread re the players needing to 'wise up' to the challenges ahead!!!!
