before beginning my latest rant, I have to say I am no supporter of the local council and the part they have played with other Trinity cartel members in Hull's demise over the past 30 years or so. However, after experiencing (some say suffering) yesterday's overall matchday experience (excluding the match itself that is), maybe there was an insight into our potential move to Melton. 1) 5 30 kick off time due to non-footballing issues more to do with the ill-thought decision to situate a new ground in the middle of nowhere with higher priority noisey neighbours. 2) £15 to park at the ground 3) compelled to pay an additional £6 (4 people) in advance, plus a £2 admin fee if i d bought direct from Brighton rather than going out of my way to get to the Circle ticket office to buy em. 4) an additional £1 50 to park in lewes to pre-empt a three day camel ride of a trek to the train station to catch a train to the match. 5) 10 minutes in crowded cattle truck to get to the game after a 6 hour drive from Hull via Donny for a pick-up. 6) an unfinished stadium akin to Donny or Scunny but with a uncharacteristic 3 tier corporate hospitality box down one side, albeit with the most comfortable seating i have stood in front of to watch a game ever 7) the best footballing performance from a City team I ve seen for quite a few years against a similar minded team. Full marks to all. 8) a scrum down to get on a cattle truck back to lewes, followed by a hike down the train to get off cos the train was too long for the platform 9) return trek to lewes car park in preparation for 6 hour drive. Melton here we come! Maybe the Cooperian Morgue is nt so bad after all?
£15 to park at their ground is absolutely disgusting, the match ticket should cost that much, no wonder the world is occupying the financial centres, cos we the 99% can't afford silly prices due to corporate hostpitality & big business taking over the game.. there's my rant, glad you enjoyed the performance though, will see it on tigersplayer on monday!
i dont use trains generally but nothing yesterday inspired me to. When i was younger I was always within easy walking distance of BP so never had any reason to use the old trains to Boothferry Halt, but from what I remember seeing, yesterday was much worse than the bun fight that always ensued then. If this is the future of football then, as Ewen McGregor once said: "I chose something else!". I suppose it could be said that the saving grace on the day for those who use them was the padded seats in the ground. However, I cant really remember the last time I sat at an away game?
jFound the Brighton supporters friendly proud of their ground even though its not finished I think the KC looks and feels better used the number 28 and 25 bus then train 4 me thus avoiding the cattle trucks
