Cast you mind back five seasons ago. Tango and Cash were running the club into the ground. Paul Hart was at the Manager and QPR were free falling into oblivion. I believe this was one of the worst seasons I have know supporting the club. If we had gone down that season we would have been ruined. Tango and Cash would have cut their losses and we would most likely gone into administration. At that point we would have really been in trouble. But thankfully for all of us one man step and said enough is enough. This man was Amit. To me this guy does not get enough credit. If this guy had not stepped in and brought Neil n when he did we would have been stuffed. But what we did in the next season was more important. He took the attitude that surrounded club and completely turned it around. He had searched out the right man for the job with Neil and backed him sensible. He told Tango and Cash to shut up and he showed them how to get things done. We all wonder what would have happened if he was allowed to buy the club.

But all is not lost. The club has an owner who is positive he wants to build the club. But it is not working the same mistakes keeping getting made. Amit can sort this mess out again, he is what we need. He still loves the club and has proven he understands the game better than Tony. I am like most on this board who think all is not lost but it needs to be changed before it is too late. I don't think bring in someone like Les into the role he has been given always works. A lot of managers don't like the idea of someone telling them what to do. This is why Amit would be in a better position.

I don't think it would take much to change things. We have players in the squad that can keeps us up. We just need a more constructive positive attitude that has been brought to the club before.

Very good thread mate. Yes I have to agree when Amit took the helm we got Warnock in and had a stable period within the club and of course our magic Championship winning season.

It felt like we truly had our Rangers back. Whatever happens now it's good to know our Amit truly has the QPR bug and seems to care.

If it all goes tit's up for us I'm sure he would not stand by the wayside an and let it all fall apart. Even without his family's £$£ he is also a very astute business man and worth a good few million himself.

Don't get me wrong I like Tony but he is just too busy with Air Asia and trusts too many yes men to run things. Amit was much more hands on.

Amit may be busy with Air Asia too - he is co-owner of Air Asia India. He also has a venture capital firm and is chairman of Hope Construction which makes cement. Plus many celebrity friends, if his twitter account is anything to go by.

He is already vice chairman of QPR, presumably he has his say in strategy and implementation.

Fair point Stan. I guess the difference is Amit is a bit closer to home so to speak. Tony's HQ as you know is in Malaysia and he spends most his time there.

Amit also sat with the fans at the playoff final. I was checking his twitter feed the week after and he was waxing lyrical about his QPR family, the fans.

I know these are not really significant points but I think he get's it a bit more than Tony. Only my opinion TBH.

Again I'm not trying to slag Tony but I would feel more comfortable with Amit running the show. Amit also goes to loads more away games than Tony, please correct me if I'm wrong.

We have nothing to worry about if TF were to leave IMO

I think a lot of us hoped the Mittals with Amit at the front would take over from Tango and Cash. Amit shows he has real knowledge of thepPlayers and the Club and has a passion for it, not just a press release knowledge of the players.

From 'The Four Year Plan', that very nearly happened and Amit was thwarted at the 11th hour. Amit was one of the very few to come out of 'The Four Year Plan' with his reputation not only intact but actually enhanced. Perhaps the only one to have an enhanced rep. I'd be very happy to see him at the helm though I am not anti TF.

I'm getting increasingly confused by this thread. Amit is a co-owner of the club (with a bigger personal stake than Fernandes, albeit in the name of his father in law) and he is vice chairman. Who says he is not deeply involved on a daily basis already, just not tweeting about it and on telly all the time?

He seems very close to Fernandes both personally and in (non QPR) business. He has said Fernandes is "a genius and a visionary". I'm assuming everything going on at the club is explicitly sanctioned by him and he's fully bought into it.
