Manchester United fan gets dying wish to meet players - and passes away 45 minutes later lifelong Manchester Unitedfan got his dying wish to meet his heroes - just 45 minutes before he passed away. Patrick Lawler, 73, told his family he would love to be visited at his home inWythenshawe by his favourite Reds as he was in the final stages of his battle with cancer. So granddaughter Kayleigh, 27, posted an emotional plea on Facebook asking if anyone could help make Patrick’s dream come true. And just days later Wythenshawe’s Marcus Rashford and fellow players Jesse Lingard, Ashley Young and Timothy Fosu-Mensah turned up at his home. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...ited-dying-wish-fan-11889203#ICID=FB-MEN-main
Nice touch, always makes me think differently about people, the man got his wish and kudos to the team for making his wish.. Funny you should post that because I was reading this earlier about Everton the other night and then looked at the rest of the slides, I had no clue the others had done this stuff.. I will think different about Bellamy now, there's some good people in the football world and before people say, yeah but they have a shed load of money, it is the fact that they cared enough, to do something about it that matters.. http://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/foot...-of-charity-in-football/ss-BBw9dDI?li=BBoPOOl
I wonder if he gave Lingard a clip for his performance against City. Bless him, poor guy, glad the club responded the community is the foundations of the club, always will be, even with all the money and power.
Complete ****er on the football pitch - absolute gent when I met him in Newcastle (even when he played for "them" You find a lot of what people do on the pitch is just their football persona. And that in real life they are completely different people - then you get Kieron Dyer who is just a cock! Well done to United and the players that made htis happen
Agree, but he was standing on the pitch for some reason. I really rate the kid as well, he's a big game player, he just seemed like he'd left his head at home.
yeah I know - I think he's got an arrogance about him but have seen him do some pretty amazing things. Hate his celebration though - makes me wanna punch him
At least he has seen at least 13 premier league title wins, 2 champions leagues, f a cups etc, our dying supporters have seen nowt. oh the 1973 f a cup win maybe, I know I won't see anything won before I go thanks to the present regime, that is the shocking reality of a club our size.
That's what you guys are finding out nowadays anyway!! Then again, we can't even find the starting line
