As some-one who lived in Plymouth for 25 years I have a lot of friends in the Green Army, so am taking a special interest in the League Two relegation battle, hoping Argyle can drag themselves over the finishing line in the top 22, come May. I have just been going through the predictor, up to the point where every-one has played 40 games and this is how I had the bottom of the table, with six games to go. 19...... Barnet............ (-28) 36 20...... Bristol Rov....... (-28) 35 21...... ARGYLE.......... (-26) 34 22...... Hereford......... (-34) 34 ------------------------------- 23...... Dag & Red...... (-28) 33 24...... Northampton... (-34) 33 Do you think it will look any-thing like this? Would you take this position if it was offered to you now? GOOD LUCK.
OK....devonF.....so what are the last six games ? Hereford.....A Aldershot.....H Swindon.....A Oxford.....H Morecambe.....A Cheltenham.....H Swindon.....Oxford.....Cheltenham.....no points from these games. Hereford.....Aldershot.....Morecambe.....maybe six points...........34 + 6= 40 pts end of season......equals relegation. So devonF.........NO.........I would be disappointed with only 34pts.
I'm not going to bother to look up the other sides last six fixtures but you cannot just take Argyle's in isolation to prove relegation. Are their's easy or hard? I think this season could see a very low total being relegated. The usual adage is 49/50 points to be safe but looking at the illistration given would you bet that 4 or 5 of those clubs involved would get that sort of total. I would not take the total with 6 to go either but neither would I expect it to be less. I think, unless something drastic changes this is either going to be a complete capitulation on Argyle's part or at best a squeaky bum last half of the season.
