Wow, bouncing that ball against the wall can get tiring. I got up to thirty-nine thousand, two hundred and ninety-six before the ball landed in my porridge that was slid in underneath the door. <doh>

I read the thread about my ban as every Tom, Dick and Harry gave their opinion on my situation: Some who hadn't posted in months, others I'd never even heard of. There were a few things said that I'd like to set straight. Now I know most people are bored to hell with this sideshow at this stage but when you see things being said about you - particularly untruths - yet you have no means to reply, it can get a little irksome as I'm sure most of you can appreciate. Despite the rules and regulations having tightened considerably (perhaps wisely), I'm still confident that I will be allowed the right of reply. So here goes:

It was said in the poll taken that having been banned thrice, I had snook back in on each occasion under a false username. This is untrue. The first two times I served the ban and returned when it was over. The third time I did sneak back in under a preposterous anagram that I thought would hold out for at least five weeks but didn't last five minutes. When rumbled, I stated that I was leaving again so as not to antagonise the Mods but whom (very graciously I might add) invited me to stay so long as I behaved.

On that poll-thread a few weeks ago, a couple of posters stood out. One, who doesn't post very regularly, seemed obsessed by my status on this Forum to the point that he was all over the thread like a rash. He must have posted more on that particular subject than all his other contributions on this site combined. In the end I became quite amused with his almost neurotic fixation with me. I never knew I could have that kind of effect on a grown man before. His pomposity and high-handedness aside, I think the chap has serious problems.

By the way, does anyone else find Cerny's constant brown-nosing a bit off-putting? Seriously, if he climbs any further up Brixton's arse, Nines will have to go up with a ladder and prize him out! I actually preferred him when he was threatening to cut out my tongue and glass people after games, at least he was interesting. Sorry, I digress.

There was another crusader who was foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog and could scarcely contain his glee. This was the same individual who had constantly attacked and baited me for the two months leading up to my banning - two months in which I attacked no-one. The same guy who I put on ignore and requested he do the same to me but he refused. He left in a cloud of insults and profanity when one member told him to grow up after he had yet again had a go at me over something trivial, only to arrive back again a few days later. I noticed during my ban that this same individual made a couple of jokes about coming over to Dublin to "sort me out". No doubt anyone that read it would have thought it a harmless joke as I would have too but when you read the PM the gentleman sent me just prior to my banning, it gives it an altogether more sinister tone.

Throughout the last month the same guy has called me a load of names, the most recent just a couple of hours ago. Now, I believe he has every right to attack and insult me - I can hardly complain after all. However, the truth is that if I retaliated even once - I'd be banned!!!

During my last probation, I never once attacked anyone. I was very careful not to speak out of turn despite the constant baiting by a few people. But sooner or later they were going to catch me out. The "hooter" comment was unfortunate but was pounced upon by LaLa because I had called him a Telletubbie (nailed by a Telletubbie. Not my finest hour.) The inconsistency there is that 3 or 4 other QPR posters were making jokes about the very same thing. I was banned - fair enough, it wasn't my first offence. But the others didn't even receive a warning. Inconsistent?

That brings me onto the system because it might appear that I'm having a go at the Mods. That couldn't be further from the truth. This may sound hollow to Brix and NUTS as I've put them to so much bother but as far as I see it, the Moderators have an impossible task. My last ban was a farce but the Mods had absolutely no choice but to invoke it. Here's why: The Moderators can only act on the complaints that they're getting. Say someone posts something and a couple of people decide to take offence. They can then run to the Mods and complain and if they do it often enough, the Mods have to act. Despite say 40 people reading it and having no problem with it, all it takes is a couple of cranks to force the issue and get their way. The 40 people who had no problem whatsoever with the comment are irrelevant because if a small number kick up enough of a fuss, then the Mods have to go into action. Its like the tail wagging the dog so to speak.

I've never complained to a Mod in the 18 months I've been on here. The only time I contacted the Mods was to forward on a PM I'd received just prior to my banning and only because it was threatening. I could have complained of the behaviour of one poster at least 50 times in the last couple of months and Brix and Nuts would have had to reprimand him. But is that really the way this thing should be run? Grown men running to Moderators and banging on their door because they don't like what some-one else has said? On a Football Forum for Christ's sake!!!

I noticed in the last month that some of the more credulous and some downright gullible on here fell for the line that was being pedalled by this little group of sycophants but thankfully the majority on this little forum are bloody clever. Some sharp as a tack. To those that were taken in by the sob-story, just keep an eye out for whom is actually abusing whom. You may find yourself surprised.

Just another little anomaly I noticed. It was suggested that Staines said he had left because of me. I find that quite odd because I remember clearly the day he left. He took offence at some innocuous comment SB had said and said he was leaving. It was the same time that Imaz left (again), just a few minutes prior to it in fact. Perhaps Stainsy could clear that one up.

Another thing is that it was suggested that DT was lying regarding a PM he had received informing him that there was a kind of vigilante group organising behind the scenes in an attempt to oust posters by barracking the Moderators with complaints. I can confirm that I too received such a PM.

And to wrap up, I also find it quite odd that despite people claiming that a load of people don't post any more because of me, there was no sign of these aggrieved posters for the entire month that I wasn't here! You would have thought that with me out of the way they'd be back on in a flash. Another fallacy perhaps?

(P.S. Who the fu*k is that plank "Stamford Brook R"? I watched him have a go on more than one occasion and I know he's changed his name but I can't place him!)

That'd be me Swords. Putting your name on the back of a Chelsea shirt was just a bit of fun and some posters found it funny. Welcome back anyway.

    Welcome back Swords.
I can of course confirm that it was an overly flippant remark from me that sent Staines into hibernation. Apologies were proffered and I think accepted.

Don't let the bastards grind you down.
