http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-owner-vincent-tan-7101875 Finally, something to shout about. If this happens, I'll take my hat off to the bloke. Admitting you've been in the wrong is an admirable thing. Looks like VT might make some friends at last.
Something had to happen to attempt to halt the gathering momentum of the unrest. He is certainly extending the first twigs of the olive branch but I'm not sure saying it is dependant on a PL return and must be acceptable to him will satisfy his more vocal opponents. The important news (from my POV) is his commitment to seeing the job out. Under tan I'd be surprised for it to take more than 2-3 seasons to return to the PL. Hopefully we can play some decent football, win a couple of matches, get near the top of the table then the mood should improve. The colour issue is massive but there's no doubt it became a channel for people to vent their frustrations about a **** season on the pitch. If we'd had Palaces end of season I just don't think there'd have been as much noise about it. Oh yeah he's always reminded me of James Bond too
I didn't read article dude, but im taking it as a positive after reading your response.................our clubs fans need this 2 happen asap, our unity for next season would drive us up the division faster than a Jamaican sprinter on steroids and coca truffles
It appears to be good news and is the extending of the olive branch. I suppose we couldn't be blue next season as contracts will probably have been agreed with the kit suppliers. I wonder if our away kit for next season will be blue or whether it has been changed to yellow or black. I still don't like the all blue kit, we used to play in blue shirts and white shorts. Why did that change?
Both sides of the divide have valid points, it's just a great pity that neither has been willing to consider the other's up till now. If in making what appears to be the first concilliatory public move, Tan gets cut a little slack, maybe - just MAYBE - all elements of the club can pull together next season. What he's just come out with is hardly "caving in", but let's see if now the Malky episode appears to be over and done with, we can all concentrate in getting this club back into the Prem at the first attempt. Despite the signing debacles of the last summer window, I don't think there'll be any shortage of funds made available to get the right players in. Once bitten twice shy may be Tan's approach, but the spend required to get up there is far less than what you need to stay there.
I'm editing out your post swim. You're entitled to your opinion pal, but we don't need another argument on a thread about our club initiated by you or anyone else from down the road. If you don't like it, PM me by all means.
VRD - I remember an awful lot, probably a lot more than you pal, but I've never edited a post to change the wording so it means something different to what the poster meant. I took out swim's post in its' entirety and explained the reason why. Not having a go at him, just doing my job. Likewise, if you don't like it, PM me.
Hi guys, Newcastle fan in peace. I can't understand why Tan wanted rid of Mackay and I can't understand why he changed the colour of your strips I appreciate I support a team that has an unpopular chairman as well but what is it with Vincent Tan that makes him come across as a bit of a knob?
Your decision Sparkey, but if the post had been placed by a Cardiff fan it would have stood. It was purely an opinion about a statement from Tan that said/committed to nothing and many of your fans will fall for it. No swearing. No abuse. Just blanket censorship of an opinion. No PM needed. Your board though
I watched his body language - all the blinking as he spoke - his words were not at all definite - plenty of 'let's see what happens after' etc No way is he going back to blue - if he was he would have said, "Well, lads, I've got it wrong. It's blue from now on." Instead it was ifs buts and maybes - just like you fob kids off when you don't want to take them to Disneyworld but don't fancy the aggro which would arise if you came right out with it. Do not trust him - I smell a porky.
swim - I just logged back on after getting back in. Your comment was an opinion, but as one from a visitor, it could be regarded as provocation toward another spat fest. You're spot on in saying that if it had come from a Cardiff fan it would have stood and still be up there. We can say what we like over here with recriminations between other members kept at fairly low levels. If it boiled over on here between Cardiff posters, we have a obligation to quell it. We also have an obligation to prevent something if we see it about to happen - your post was a prime example of an incendiary chucked in like a grenade. One other thing - you're dead right - this IS our board.
Sour grapes from the pensioner from Porthcawl, going back to where you belong you miserable git!.....................
"this IS our board". I'm tempted to say,and you're welcome to it. You're welcome to it. I never could resist temptation.
......and the gloating is Premier Cru VETCH....... No problem with your or Phil's posts - at least they can only be taken one way and for what they're worth.
...........Man that's a peach that one Dai, watch old sparkey don't ban you for it!.................. please log in to view this image
fk me this is like the special needs drop in centre down townhill on giro day. ps sparks mod as you see fit brother, I for one trust in your judgement.
Looks like there are lots of "ifs" and "maybes" in the statement and he is probably flying the prospective supporters rep on the board in from Malaysia as I write. There are certain things he could do and has suggested he would do right now - I am sure he would improve relationships greatly if he got on and did them. Good luck next season, I am sure the majority of the teams in the Championship will be as they have for the last few season i.e. anyone can beat anyone so it will probably be a bit of a roller coaster ride but hope its an enjoyable one.
