If anyone can do match threads and/or match reports it will be very much appreciated. I'm no good at doing these myself and I fear I will be booed off not having attempted this before I'm not even going to go there lol. I think our boards are now busy enough to make this viable so.... volenteers please???
Thats a lie Jools you do really good match reports for the U14's ....... dont underestimate yourself !
You still do a bloody good job on it though Jools ! Besides our squad is full of kids so there isn't too much difference lol
Was a good point. Played well in the first half and tried to play decent football. Admittedly we did look like a team that didn't know each other at times but thats understandable. Probably too early to judge but Feeney looked well off the pace to me. Not sure how many were there from Argyle but was a really good turnout and definitely surprised Shrewsbury with the numbers. Shrewsbury maybe should have won but we battled all the way which is what we are going to need. Speaking to other fans it's obvious that Plymouth based fans are sick of Heaney and Ridsdale and are scratching their heads as to why Brent was overlooked. Have to say we were given a warm welcome by the home fans and I thought the 3 Fishes? was a superb pub and the barmaid made sure we got taxis in plenty of time to make the game and pick up tickets. All in all it was a deserved point and some signs that not everything is doom and gloom. COYG
Ah no thanks. I'll give my summary of games I can make but I'm not the best person to ask on a regular basis with my little un being only 4 months old. Only got away with going today because was on holiday and the missus was also off. She normally works Saturday all day and Tuesday nights so I've usually got my hands full. 1207 away fans according to the Shrewsbury match report, which is a hell of an effort. It was a 3 hour journey for me from Wiltshire so God knows what time the Plymouth based fans left home, mind you I do like to arrive in good time to try out a few pubs! I was drinking a flagon of scrumpy at 8.15am and missed my connection in Newport on the way home so my day was extended by an hour lol. Anyway off to bed now am shattered. Been camping in Dorset, went to the races at Worcester yesterday and Shrewsbury today so need my bed. One moan is the shooting by us today. Several times we were in good positions and someone took a pop from 20 yards or so and the ball ended up high wide and not very handsome. Hopefully just teething problems.
hi greenjock, glad you enjoyed your trip to shrewsbury. the 3 fishes is one of the best pubs in the town. the regular beer is timothy taylors landlord. plus 4 or 5 others. good luck to argyle for the rest of the season, and i am glad the shrews gave you a warm welcome, although they probably did not appreciate the 90th minute rocket from hell. now then can we beat derby county away on tuesday night
Vey hospitable town AJ. I was drinking cider and very nice it was too. Had a breakfast in a pub just outside the station. It might have been the Bulls Head? I was already scrumpied up so can't remember too well! Also stopped at a pub just around the corner from the 3 fishes but couldn't tell you the name of that one, but it had quite a few Argyle fans in there. We were made to feel welcome in every pub and for a pleasant change even the police were friendly and understood we were not cattle and had a relaxed attitude to us all. Really enjoyed the day out and the late rocket was just the icing on the cake. We didn't deserve to lose and it was just reward for the large numbers of fans making the long journey.
I can write a summary on home matches (when I am able attend - all but two this season) however I am not normally able to make too many away matches so I'd have to leave that to someone else.
