Saw this on SaintsWeb and thought some here may find what 'Ian the Red' heartwarming and interesting, so here goes: "Last night we went to the Players Awards dinner but unfortunately our friends were unable to go as their 8 year old son was admitted to hospital during the afternoon. They asked us if we could get Danny Fox, Ben's favourite player, to write a get well message, which we thought we would be able to do. When we were talking with Danny he said no problem and was delighted to write a message. When we explained the situation he was genuinely concerned and said if he can do anymore just let him know. Later in the evening we started talking to Danny again and he remembered our earlier conversation and again said he would like to help and prehaps visit Ben in hospital. He gave us his mobile number and after a few texts this morning Danny contacted our friends and arranged to visit Ben on Sunday. Much to everyones surprise Danny turned up this afternoon to see Ben together with Adam Lallana and a signed shirt. It really was a lovely thing for Danny to do; our friends are needless to say, very worried and Danny's and Adam's visit lifted everyones spirits. Ben is doing very well and hopefully everything is moving in the right direction. Just thought it was worth posting to show that our players do have caring side and are willing to try to help others. Top bloke Danny Fox!!" Really nice gesture, top stuff from Mr Fox and Lallana also! DTLW
What a guy. I loved him before this story but love him even more now. What a group of men we have in our squad. Very proud.
It's great that we have a group of players who really care about the fans and play for the community. Even the foreign players take a keen interest in it, something that isn't seen enough nowadays. Also, get well soon to the young lad
Since he's been at the club I have really admired him, not only does he have a great left foot but he wears his heart on his sleeve and has always backed the club and his teammates. Thank You for posting this DTLW because he has now gone up even higher in my estimation. Well Done Danny long may it continue.
Really excellent, my Dad saw them leaving the Saints shop this afternoon but isn't know what to say...
adam lallana is always involved with this kind of thing, any new players to come in will have to understand the ethos of the club
good lads.. makes a nice change from the stories of gerrard beating up djs and terry shagging everything thts got a pulse
