I expect that it has been to our benefit that Jason Banton is not the finished article.

If he could tackle well,if he could head the ball well, if he could defend well,if he passed the ball to others more often and was not so selfish at times, he certainly wouldn't have been loaned to a struggling D2 club.

What he can do well is put the ball in the net, averaging over the magic one goal every two matches. He has the ability to beat players and shoot finding the corner beyond the goalies reach with either foot........maybe that makes you selfish at times.

Jimmy Greaves could do it.....but his work load wasn't up to Sir Alf Ramsey's requirement for winning the World Cup.....he was injured and couldn't get back in Ramsey's team......I think it left a chip on his shoulder regarding not playing in the Final....but Ramsey was vindicated by Geoff Hurst scoring a hat-trick.

Sorry I'm rambling on........with Palace going for Promotion and coming a cropper at home 4-0 to Birmingham at the weekend you wonder if Holloway would be wanting to freshen things up ?.........most loanees can be recalled by their parent club.......could that happen with Banton ?.....he is a natural goalscorer....with faults of course, but Holloway is a gambler, would he recall him before we have made certain of surviving......your guess is as good as mine.
