Ok before I start I know the majority of the stuff printed in the papers is BS, however looking at the strong rumours printed so far, if we came to the end of the transfer window and this was the situation: Clichy gone Nasri gone Fab gone Hopefully bendtner gone Denilson gone (please god) Gervinho arrived Benzema Arrived Cahill arrived Mata arrived Would you all be happy? TBH I wouldn't be too unhappy with that, although we do really need to add a decent combative defensive midfielder to that.
i don't think you can rely on Gibbs at left back all season, so unless TV was going to be moved there, i'd be disappointed if a LB didn't come in. Otherwise, that'd b swell
Don't think i'd be deliriously happy but at least it might give us better balance and a more direct style and it might cut out some of the 'tippy tappy'. Could live with it and it might 'grow' on us.
Ive read a few options on various forums and so called informed Blogs, about what Wenger might do with the left back situation including Gibbs (who I like), TV, Botelho, or even converting Vela into a left back! I believe Vela may play there on the Asia tour.
Vela at LB I know Wenger turned a little known LW into the highest scoring Arsenal player ever, but this is a bit ambitious isn't it?
Are you talking about Arseblog, because that was a joke you know. And no I wouldn't be too happy if that was the case because we wouldn't have a DM, replacement for Fabregas and new LB which I think we need.
I don't think its the style thats the problem, just that sometimes we are not good/brave enough to carry it out. I don't see how we would get better if hitting it long was our main strategy.
Yes I would. We would miss Fabregas and would have to change our style of play to accomodate those players. Home: ---------------Sczezney--------------- -Sagna--Cahill--Vermaelen--Cissoko- Walcott----Song--Wilshere----Mata ----------VanPersie --------------Benzema Away: ---------------Sczezney--------------- -Sagna--Cahill--Vermaelen--Cissoko- ------Wilshere---Song-----Mata------ --VanPersie-----Benzema-----Arshavin-- A pretty damn attacking line up. Would be alot more direct than our current first 11.
Cole changed to left back as a youngest - not as 23 year old who had played 35 times for his country! even trying to convert him to a LB would be amibitous
The rumour about Vela moving to LB was a joke on Arseblog. Who the **** would be stupid enough to play a clinical striker at LB?
He's only ever started like 5 Premier League games for us. Most have his appearances for us have been cameos in the last 5 minutes of matches. Arsene Wenger previously confirmed that he's the best finished at the club.
What about his appearances for other clubs in that time? Vela isn't good enough for Arsenal, he wasn't even good enough for West Brom.
He has been played out of position when on loan. He's a striker, not a winger. And the only reason he couldn't get many games at West Brom is because Woy doesn't like little tricky players who are actually useful. He prefers defensive line ups which only contain 2 or 3 attacking players.
Sorry Kamran but I don't think Vela is good enough. I think he will end up playing at a mid table side. Did you see Syd's comment on that other thread? He said you won't ever be a mod.
