As far as I can see, quality of refereeing has taken a sharp dip in recent times. You could argue it goes back a bit further than 2 years but it seems to be shocking this year.

What do you think are the recccuring problems?

For me, it's failure to book for diving, offside issues (not actually offside or should have been offside), teams near the top of the table getting preferential treatment, teams chasing the game being seen as desperate and not getting the benefit of the doubt or the team not chasing getting the benefit.

I just want to get a bit of a consensus from supporters of all teams in the league.

It is currently shockingly bad. It is inconsistent and, frankly, they just dont see what is happening in front of them. The rules should be clarified, too much scope for inconsistency. A clearer steer from the FA is needed.

Agreed. It seems to me that it doesn't help when the F.A. Persists with Refs like Fat Phil. He's clearly not able to keep up with play, and consequently makes guesses as to what he thinks has happened.

About time video technology was brought in, there's far too much at stake nowadays to carry on like this.

All valid points. I suggest a Hunger Games type scenario where refs are executed in all manner of ways with each and every mistake until only the very best is left.

Ofcourse all of this can only begin after we get our customary decisions against the london clubs over the next couple of games

That idea is probably a little harsh on Fat Phil

Moves are afoot to address standards. Stevie Wonder and Helen Keller have been appointed to oversee performance and their analysis of referees' decisions will be presented to the media at weekly conferences by Harpo Marx.
