Just seen this on the QPR Till I Die Website, it's by 'The Wig.' A proper Captain When a team looks to its Captain there are many things to look for; leadership, heart. a man that can tell them what to do but in my eyes they need passion! As the picture below shows Cisse has this and its clear for all to see. I don't see how it would hurt if he was given the armband; we can't be any worse than we are now or can we? Just look at his passion! *** A player that is not a Captain is Joey Barton and with ten games to go it needs to be taken off him. I really fail to see why he's got it; he does nothing! He shows no committment whatsoever and in all the time he's been at the club I've yet to see any passion on the pitch (off the pitch he had a go at Neil Warnock! A real pro eh?) ***** I implore Mark Hughes to drop both SWP and Joey Barton and put in players that will spill blood, sweat and tears for our club! Tommy Smith can easily take the little mans place and as for Barton; we're used to playing with ten men now! Posted 28 minutes ago by the wig
Hi QPR999, I can only say how bloody right you are, got it in one. Can you not send you little words of wisdom on to our great leaders for them to take note as MH will not as he so full of him self!
Barton the player I have no problem with, but Barton the captain really annoys me. Neil Warnock got many things right, but this one he got sooooo wrong. Mark Hughes had his chance to choose his own captain when he arrived but instead stuck with Barton, bad judgement on his part. As the article says, we can't be any worse so why not change it? Can't see that happening though, unfortunately.
The thing that really worries me about Barton, is I am not worried about him anymore. When he came I was worried he would be kicking and punching and getting sent off.....and he did....and then he seemed to stop getting involved AT ALL, IN THE GAME, IN THE TEAM, IN THE FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL. It seems that someone took him aside and said you must be responsible and he was and it took all the magic and passion out of him (Now we all know what is going to happen don't we. He will play brilliantly, with passion, verve and desire for 30 min against liverpool, he will score a goal, set the team alight and then get sent of for a late lunging tackle and we will lose 3-1...and it will all be my fault)
If we strip barton of the captaincy, then drop him from the team altogether and sell him in the summer. Imagine what his attitude will be like?? He'll be finished at the club.
Spot on QPR999, and there are so many people saying it. Whilst Joey wears the hoops I'll support him on the pitch. But I suspect that his presence and captaincy is the cancer that needs cutting out of our club. Whether we stay up or not.
Why is yet another anti-Barton thread necessary? There must have been over 100 since he joined. Some people don't like him, that's understandable, but if people just keep repeating what's been said dozens of times before it gets tiresome.
