With all the rumours regarding DAWG, Buckley and Cowie, it would appear that our worst fears regarding Dasani are becoming a reality all too quickly.

I predict that it's going to be a painful week or two - with FOUR (count 'em) negative developments. The first is not unexpected, the second and third a disaster.

The fourth (and I am sure you can guess what that is) would be an utter CATASTROPHE. And no amount of sweetener coin as a result of the possible Ashley Young sale or a much liked but well past it striker returning home will make up for it.

I can only hope I am proved wrong.

I believe the club have a very cold view on the finances. There are clear targets and formulas for player purchases.

Put very simply there is a formula - Player Sales need to produce a min £x (poss £3m). Once this cash target has been reached then Malky can have possibly 40% of any further player sales.

Its the deductions which complicate things, stuff like sell on clauses and any ex gratia payments to departing players. If it is true that Buckley has a high sell on figure then his sale doesn't actually generate that much cash, and that is a big problem.

I wouldn't be surprised to see both Buckley and Cowie now leave. Clearly the fees will satisfy the club's minimum target and Malky would then be aware of his total budget. The doubt is then over whether Malky wants to stay and meet the 52 point challenge.

IMO its Malky who makes the difference.

In that scenario the easier option for MM is to find another job<yikes> then we would be screwed! Would be a Fan revolt against Baz!

    Graham: going/gone
    Buckley: going

    So, who's next?

Well, I can see a bid coming in for Cowie and it wouldn't surprise me entirely if a side looking for an experienced head put in a bid for one or both of Eustace and Taylor. If outsiders see this is turning into a fire sale, expect a piss-take offer for Sordell as well.

Could get very nasty indeed, especially if (and I presume this is your fourth, catastrophic development?) Mackay, understandably, loses patience and jumps ship. No sane Watford fan would blame him.

God I hope this doesn't happen but yes, couldn't blame MM for jumping ship if we wishes too. I also wonder, if he did, who on earth would be attracted to come to us?

    Kevin Phillips?

If we're now in the business of grooming young players for re-sale, then why not young managers too?

Talk about a new manager is a little premature IMO. We all knew there would be player sales because the club's debt is at the limit (circa £15m at close of last season). Barclays and Ashcroft will be more comfortable now the first (and biggest?) Sale appears to be in place. I am not surprised at what has happened so why would Malky?

Malky's job is clear - build a team to be competititve at this level and reach 52 points.

By the way if anyone was to think of managerial candidates - what about Nigel Gibbs?

She didn't know she was going to be chief scout. What he actually wanted was a short back and sides we could beat...... so she got her scissors out. ;)
