In the light of another gut wrenching defeat can I for one say that I thought M'bia was fantastic.

Hill then Samba wore the armband but M'bia pulled the team through that match with both his mentality and his performance.

After we conceded the first he ran, picked the ball out of the net before running back to the half way line and putting it on the centre spot. He was always hurrying Fulham along and was a shining light in an otherwise **** stained first half before conducting play in the second.

He's had his critics which I include myself in but yesterday I thought he was sublime.

Shame he's only got one year left on his contract as he'll undoubtedly be sold in the summer but I think it's worth pointing out that they're not all useless overpaid clowns who dont care.

Sorry for not being completely depressive.

M'bia was man of the match by a mile last night. Except Berbatov got it for managing to score a penalty and one nice bit of control.

From my distant viewpoint, that was probably our performance of the season.

He was everywhere and showed a fight and desire that was faultless.

He was brilliant...hope the other 10 took note and live up to his example for the rest of the season.

He is the living example of what we have lacked all season - consistency at high level of performance. With the exceptions of Hill, Derry and Mackie, who make up with heart what they lack in talent, I KNOW we have some great players at this club. Not enough of them have fired at the same time for it to make the difference. When I saw the first half performance against Spurs away I thought 'this is it, here we go'. Really sad that we have barely touched that level since.

One thing that Mbia has been consistent in is his commitment and enthusiasm - a great man.

He did have a really good game. If only he could shake off the habit of staying on the ground for ages after failing to win free-kicks. At least once yesterday he was still down on the edge of their box after Fulham had broken forwards and almost scored.

Bang on the nose! He was everywhere yesterday and played with fire and passion.

TF should note - that is all we want as fans. Players who display fire and passion for the badge. Had we had that all season we would be sliding to relegation with a lot more conviction that coming straight back up was indeed possible.

Sorry mate, slightly disagree. Mbia has shown fire and passion all season and been pants a lot of the time - what he gave us yesterday was fire, passion and skill even occasionally vision (pass to Remy). What you get with fire and passion only is Mackie - impossible to dislike but hugely frustrating too.

He was outstanding but as I have mentioned before we may all want fire and passion but at this level its really about composure and decision making. I believe these attributes will win us matches.

We backed off far too much first half and that was the reason Fulham looked good ... there are a group of very good professionals. we got tighter second half and restricted them that all important few feet ... it made a massive difference to in fact turn the tables. We played some good stuff last night second half ... and if can ride the storm and start like we did against Villa and finish like we did last night then I for one will feel really happy as our team has at last shown exactly how good we are. As they said on the TV ... play as we did second half we look a really top half team.

I still believe we will do it and I know that inside a lot of here are seeing that too.

He was very good last night apart from one embarrassing dive. Can't see him playing Championship football next year!
DT I love your unwavering optimism, wish I had the same outlook!

When I met the lad last week, i could tell after 2 mins how passionate he is about the game. I'm so glad last night he didn't let me down and showed some of that passion on the field of play.
Reading between the lines, I sadly doubt he will be playing for us next season.

I said from the start that M'Bia is one of my favourite players. His passing at times is poor but I love his effort.

I wonder sometimes if his natural position is centre half rather than defensive midfielder.

In all honesty, I think Samba should have got it. We couldn't have done it without him! <laugh>

He had a good game. Doesn't excuse his performances for the rest of the season in which he has been very, very poor.

I was going to say that Berbatov is class and would be a world beater if he gave a toss, but after your comment Bandit I retract everything. BTW could you not fit A.R.S.E in front of your forum name?

I have never stopped thinking about that first 60 mins against Spurs where we totally outplayed, passed and generally looked a class outfit, what happened??
